Best sushi in the boro! Our server was so attentive and were seated within seconds. We tried a variety of rolls and Nigiri and everything by was incredible. The restaurant was very clean (even the bathroom!) and had a very chic vibe like something you’d find in the city. We can’t wait to go back for more.

Really glad to have a solid sushi restaurant on this side of town. Everything was tasty and came out in good time, and the environment was really clean and chill. I was really impressed by the build-out, and the menu pricing was very reasonable. There were so many things that looked good that we didn’t get to try, so we will definitely be back for a quick lunch or a chill dinner with friends!

My boyfriend’s coworkers mentioned Maru to us so we decided to give them a try, and man are we happy we did! In the last two weeks we’ve ordered 3 times via DoorDash, and haven’t been disappointed yet! The food always arrives fresh and well-presented .. the sushi colors are vibrant and tastes just as good it looks! My favorite is the very berry, as I love the combination of the ingredients! We have yet to dine in, but are looking forward to soon, as I’m sure the service won’t disappoint. Highly recommend giving them a try!

Came to Maru in Murfreesboro for my buddy’s birthday. The place has a modern Korean café vibe—light colors, natural light, spotless, and minimalist. If I didn’t know better, I’d expect lattes and croissants instead of sushi and noodles. But this is a food review, so décor doesn’t earn or lose points.
I ordered the Pirate’s Treasure roll and the Yaki Udon. The Pirate’s Treasure was a knockout. Every bite hit that perfect balance of flavor and texture, and I was wishing for an encore when it was gone.
The Yaki Udon was a different story. I can’t claim to be a Yaki Udon expert, so I judged it purely on taste. It leaned too salty, and I’m pretty sure soy sauce was the culprit. I cook with the stuff often enough to know that if you over-reduce it in a stir-fry, you’re in for a sodium spike. The chicken was diced so small it lost some juiciness—bigger chunks might have kept it tender.
Now, the part no restaurant wants in a review: there was a large piece of clear plastic wrap in the noodles. I flagged it to the waitress, told her I was fine and didn’t need a replacement, but she passed it to the chef anyway. They remade the dish to-go and comped it completely. That’s top-tier service and earns them serious points back.
Would I return? Yes. The sushi alone makes it worth the trip, and the customer service was solid. Next time, I’ll test their Korean dishes and see which side of the menu really defines this place.

Had a really great time here! The food was super delicious and fresh. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. The vibe of the place was nice and comfortable. Big shoutout to Chef Kyle he did an awesome job! You can tell he really cares about the food. Definitely coming back!

The restaurant was a bit stark. We love sitting at the bar but it is quite plain. The service was good. We started with the bang bang shrimp. It was ok. The yum yum sushi roll and other roll with tuna was excellent the teriyaki chicken not so much. It was drizzled fajita cut chicken very little taste. The fried rice was average.

For some reason our server kept mixing up the crispy rice appetizer. Brought out an incorrect item for it twice. And in the photos other people uploaded it looks like someone else got the incorrect item for it as well. Might be a staff training issue
