Fresh and tasty sushi! Not the fridge-style stuff — it’s made fresh and you can really taste the difference. Lots of variety and they keep topping up the cabinet so there’s always plenty to choose from. Definitely one of my go-to spots for sushi. And as an Asian family living in Sumner, I’m so happy they opened the shop here!

What a great surprise it was to find Maru Kitchen in the heart of Sumner Village shops. The pick your own sushi is gorgeous and tasted fresh and delicious. There’s a great variety to choose from and the staff there were so friendly and lovely. Good value for money – well worth a visit!

Maru has only been open for a month. Popped in for lunch, very cute little place, amazing looking food, well displayed. There are some packaged meals however you can also pick’n’mix (self serve) from their display cabinet. Staff are friendly and outwardly asking for feedback on their food. Most importantly the food was amazing however if your not a fan of hot’n’spicy make sure you ask as there are some hot ones in their cabinet. This will be my new “go to” when in Sumner.

Stumbled on this sushi restaurant and absolutely over the moon we did. Ambience and food incredible. This is not a normal sushi restaurant, the taste is on another level. It’s not often I dream about food, but I did. We will be back soon.

Fresh sushi, beautifully presented! The interior is stylish and atmospheric, with seating available for dining in. The overall experience feels truly enjoyable – almost like a feast of art.
