West Tennessee’s legendary whole-hog BBQ tradition is the cornerstone of Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint. Pat Martin learned the art and craft of West Tennessee-style smoke and meat 25 years ago in the tiny town of Henderson, TN before making Nashville his home. It became a consuming passion that eventually led to a business when he opened the first Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint in October of 2006 in Nolensville, Tennessee – just south of Nashville. We come in at 5 am, every day, seven days a week. From the sides to the sauces, everything is made from scratch every single day – You’ll never find a freezer or microwave in our kitchens. But the bar-b-que actually starts a day ahead, as the process for smoking whole hogs simply can’t be rushed.

Outstanding food, perfectly cooked brisket, pulled pork, everything from the smoker is amazing, the secret menu item here are the smoked wings. Only 5 stars available? This is absolutely how a barbecue restaurant should be, as in, this place should be the standard for other places to strive toward. Excellent food, excellent staff, and excellent experience. In addition to the actual food, the sauces are all incredible as well. Every item was the best item. I don’t know how this place has stayed hidden from me for this long, but it’s now been discovered. Flat out, my new favorite barbecue spot (and I’ve visited many, locally as well as in different towns and states). You owe it to yourself to visit this place. Oh, and that smoked turkey… yes yes yes. Try that too.

I grabbed a brisket sandwich ($14) with sweet Dixie sauce. Unfortunately, I was caught off guard by how small it was. For the price, there should be more brisket in the sandwich should be larger.

Luckily, the first bite was fantastic. The smoke flavor was on point and the brisket was juicy.

I also bought a side of baked beans ($4) and they had a little kick to them along with an amazing onion flavor.

To cap off this little lunch. I got a slice of pecan pie ($4.50). It was delicious, syrup, and this was a good value as a piece was a good size.

Such a chill atmosphere inside. The employee who served me was somewhat friendly.

I have been to this location several times and it is always phenomenal. They have excellent brisket, ribs and other smoked meats. The sides are all amazing as well. The meat sampler tray is enough feed two. One of the best smokehouses I’ve been to.

Y’all, Martins is always great. I love the fried catfish sandwich (ask for no onions when ordering if you don’t care for them). The pulled pork shoulder sandwich with slaw on top is excellent. The pork has a slight heat to it and it’s really tasty. The fries are fresh cut and the mac and cheese is super tasty. They also do an admirable job with sweet tea!

So glad I stumbled upon this place when looking for barbecue. The outdoor dining area with all the TVs and the bar make the atmosphere very fun and exciting. The food here is very good with some good portion sizes for the price. Everything we ate here was delicious, and the drinks were great as well. Just remember that you should order your food inside first and then head out to your chosen table. Overall, a great place to go with a couple of friends or with the family.

Good food for a good price! Got the ribs and brisket, broccoli salad and potato salad.. the potato salad was a bit more vinegar flavored than I typically like, but everything else was fantastic! The dry rub was delicious, also tried the wet ribs as well, and they were really good! Can’t wait to come back!

Was sitting next to two locals on the plane from ATL to CHS and asked what their favorite BBQ joint is. They both said hands down, Martin’s BBQ. We’re staying in Folly Beach and Martin’s is super close. The restaurant is quite large with both indoor and outdoor seating and a few different bar areas as well. They also have a drive thru and a carryout area. I had the brisket with fries and mac n cheese. The brisket was amazing, tender, smoky. The mac n cheese was okay, but the fries were absolutely stellar. They have 3 sauces– a mustard base, a vinegar base and a thicker sweeter sauce. All good. My friends LOVED the ribs and the smoked turkey. Service was efficient and very friendly. It was a cold, rainy Monday night so it wasn’t that busy. But the food was still fresh. We’ll be back!!!! Recommend for sure.

I’ve been all over the US and had all different kinds of BBQ and Martins is right up there with the best. This location is accommodating, consistently high quality, and has an awesome atmosphere. Outdoor patio is great for watching sports. Wings, ribs, Mac and cheese, and green beans are some of my favorites. Thank you Martins!

Have been multiple times. For been a chain BBQ restaurant they are very good. Burger was good and cooked to correct term, mac and cheese was good with a crumble topping. Spare ribs are my go to and i really enjoy their broccoli salad. IMO their brisket was really good but keep in mind when ordering it since price goes by the market price. Their prices are very affordable, they have plenty of outdoor/ indoor seating with enough spacing for covid regulations and hand sanitizer stations. They do offer military price if you ask for before paying.
