Ordered the Prime Rib Special. When it came out, we got nervous and looked around for the cops. Told the wife, “To sell this much meat at this low price, they must’ve stole the cow.” We consumed the evidence, and enjoyed every bite. If I am ever in the area again, we’ll definitely go again. Great food, Great service, they’ll be bankrupt at these prices.

Our first time here and service, waitress, food were all Wonderful. Lots of options for food. We ended up going 2 more times and each time the food was delicious and service perfect. Pam, one of the waitresses was soooo nice.

This is a little gem of a restaurant, serving the local community with quality dining at low cost. The fries were fresh cut, not frozen. My wife proclaimed her lamb gyro to be among the best she’s ever had. The Italian cake was perfect. Service is prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed country.
I was stunned when I saw a check for $25. This quality food anywhere in Asheville is $75 minimum. I felt like I was stealing, so I left a 50% tip. Marshall Family Restaurant will be a regular stop. Quality food, prepared well, in a relaxed setting, at crazy low cost. No wonder the parking lot has been full since they opened.

We really wanted to love this Marshall family restaurant and gave it several chances before writing a review. This is strictly our personal experience—other people seem to enjoy it, and to each their own.
My husband and I have ordered from here four different times, always takeout. Unfortunately, each time the food has been overly greasy, sometimes very hard, and often tasted stale or lacking flavor altogether. On a couple of occasions, there was almost no taste at all, which was disappointing.
That said, the service has always been great. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and when my husband went inside to pick up our order, he said the atmosphere looked homey, comfortable, and family-friendly. We haven’t dined in yet, so we do plan to give it one more chance by eating inside to see if that makes a difference.
We truly want to support our local restaurant here in Marshall, and we’re still hopeful. For now, though, based on multiple takeout experiences, the food just hasn’t met our expectations. If we dine in and notice a big improvement, I’ll gladly come back and update this review.

The food was great, decent portions. A former Tommy’s employee owns this. They have a sanitation grade of 97, so I was pleased to see that. All 3 of us really enjoyed lunch and as burgers passed, they were giants!!!!
Our server seemed aggravated when I asked if the slaw was vinegar or mayonnaise based, and when my Aunt wanted a side salad added to her meal, (regardless of price) she was quick to point out others would up charge. (She would have happily paid)
Otherwise it was great. FYI the tartar sauce is heavier on mustard. I still ate 1/4 bottle with my fish/Shrimp combo meal, on daily special.
I would suggest anyone that way to try it. 7/10 overall. Down home diner with awesome prices and good food.

My wife and I were working in Marshall and the manager recommended this restaurant the food was wonderful and reasonably priced. We had a young lady for our server who was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Will be making a special trip back to try more of the menu. Go check them out. Tracy and Andy

Went here for breakfast and it was great. Large portions and worth the money. I would give them 5 stars but the grumpy old white haired man ruined that. He was mainly in the kitchen, fussing at the staff. Twice I saw him wipe his nose with his hand then go back to prepping food. I noticed this after eating. I wish I could say I’d go back but unless he learns to wash his hands AND stop wiping his nose around food, that’s a no for me!

Friendly staff, tasty food at a reasonable price. I love the spinach pie, prepared in the Greek spanakopita style; and the grilled shrimp, generous portion and delicious.
I eat there 3 or more times a week, and enjoy looking across the street at the rolling hills of western nc.

When they opened the first month they payed attention to quality. After that food and service started declining. Told to pick up orders in 20 minutes, but get cold food, fried stuff is always under cooked. Last time I ate there all 3 family members experienced upset stomachs after what waiting30 minutes for the food and watching 2 waitresses arguing and actually cussing each other. Recently found out its mario and nico former owners of Tommy’s in weaverville when it got shut down. Will not be going back or recommending to anyone
