We’ve visited Marlow’s Tavern twice—Satellite and Peachtree Corners—and unfortunately, both experiences were disappointing in the last three weeks.

At the Satellite location, we tried the burgers, and honestly, things have changed since the pandemic for one of the best dining spots in Gwinnett. The burger was packed and had a hot dog texture, just round. It honestly didn’t look or taste like fresh ground beef. The burger tasted as though it had been frozen for months and was on par with your local fast food joints.

Later, we visited the PC location, and what a joke… we ordered the Hawaiian ribeye and the filet. Come on, it was so bad that the Chef had to come explain that because they changed distributors, the quality was compromised. Both steaks were $31+ but neither were close choice cuts.

The best dish was the trout dip, but if you had fresh trout dip on the coast, you’ll be disappointed; it was extra mayo and lacked flavor. I also ordered their wings—fried wings with a side of Pete’s hot sauce. Soooo disappointing!

Now, I think if you just stop by to drink, you’ll be in good hands. Since the pandemic, cocktails have grown and are fairly good.

Lastly, the service was subpar at both locations… at one, we got a mean girl attitude, but it lightened up after realizing we were senior citizens with class, and at the other spot, it was slow service. I could go further, but I’ll digress, and both restaurants need to adjust their customer service.

With that, I wouldn’t recommend Marlow’s anymore because it has become the epitome of bar food. If you really want a steak or burger experience, there are two good restaurants across the street on Sugarloaf.

I recently dined at Marlow’s Tavern in Peachtree Corners and found the experience quite lackluster. The service was notably slow, and the food fell short of expectations. Despite high hopes, the Parmesan fries were flavorless, and the filet steak was a poor cut, lacking the tenderness one would expect from such a premium dish. On a brighter note, the wagyu burger stood out as a pleasant surprise, delivering a satisfying blend of flavors, and the crème brûlée provided a sweet finish to an otherwise unremarkable meal. Unfortunately, these highlights weren’t enough to redeem the overall experience, and I don’t plan to return.

Dinner last night at Marlow’s in P’tree Corners.
Chaney was our server-Excellent personality as well as follow up
Fish Taco’s were tasty and while the presentation is nice looking, the salad dressing from the salad bleeds onto the tacos
Would I come back: Yes in spite of the presentation above

My coworker and I went for lunch. Asparagus fries were great! My friend had the Cobb Salad with Salmon added. I thought I would try the “Maryland Crab Cake”. Being from Baltimore, I know how a Crab Cake should taste. This was no where near being how a Crab Cake should taste, let alone a “Maryland” Crab Cake. Marlow’s should be ashamed to charge $20 for that sandwich. This cake that was on the bun was possibly Claw Meat. Lump Crab Meat does not need much seasoning, and definitely doesn’t need other things added to completely change it’s flavor. The texture, smell, flavor, and after-taste was not pleasant at all. I wondered if it was fresh. Very disappointed.

We came during happy hour and sat outside on the large patio. The service was good. The drinks were strong. The $4 kettle chips are a great happy hour deal & so good. The shrimp and grits were good. There was plenty of shrimp & it was fresh and seasoned perfectly. We didn’t realize it was a grit Patty, but it was still good.

I had to leave a review after eating this food. I went for the happy hour and forgot why I haven’t eaten here since my first time having it. The shrimp and “crab” nachos come on 4 tortillas loaded with what taste like imitation crab (this was not said on the menu), the chicken wings were okay, but what got me was the okra. The okra is not cut, barely coated or fried and extremely slimy (the picture doesn’t show just how slimy this “fried” okra was at all). The bartender was late to work, then spent like 20 minutes talking to one customer as I’m trying to leave. Not a great experience, but at least it wasn’t the worst experience I’ve had either. This time, I’m writing a reminder in phone to remember to not come back. The ambience was fine.

I ordered a chicken ceasar salad. The chicken was additional. However, the portion doesn’t match the size.

Great service, burgers, fries, and Guinness on tap – what more could you ask for?
If you like beer and haven’t tried a ‘half and half’ (Guinness over Harps) on tap, you must try it here! The flavors are so much better than from a bottle or can.
We took our parents in the late afternoon and spent a couple of hours ‘grazing’ and catching up – service was great, and we never felt pressured to leave (although they were always there if we needed anything).

Just my 2 cents, but a great place to catch up with family or friends, enjoy well-made food ( and drinks) and relax.
