This place is a local joint located in Richfield on Hiway 49. The outside is a little rough and their American Flag outside is very tattered and had seen better days. Inside the place is dated. The waitress was very polite, friendly and took very good care of us. They have a wide selection of food, from breakfast, to American, to Mexican. My wife ordered the Hamburger Steak Plate with Onion Rings and a Salad. I ordered the Marli’s Burger with crispy Bacon and the Hand Cut Fries. We also ordered a basket of Nachos with Queso. Now the review: the nachos came out warm (that was a nice touch) and the queso was very good. My wife said her hamburger steak was dry, however the onion rings were good. My Marli’s burger was good, but what was disappointing was the bacon. I made it a point to tell the waitress “CRISPY BACON”, but it came out fatty and under cooked (big disappointment), I love fresh handcut fries. Handcut fries need to be crispy for me, these were not. (big disappointment #2). This was my main meal, so that’s why I had to give the food rating a 2 and the overall a 3. I had to be honest, that’s why we rate these meals. Give them a try, your experience may be different.

Had my usual ham & cheese omelette with hash browns and toast. The prices are competitive and better than some of the other diners in the area. This restaurant says they specialize in Mexican food, but their breakfasts are on par with American diners. The omelette and hash browns were very good, and served quickly. The ham they used is particularly salty, which surprised me. If you are on a sodium restricted diet, I would avoid this. A pet peev of mine is cutlery. Mis-matched cutlery, to me, can indicate that they bought them at a yard sale. Having matching cutlery shows me they care about their image and quality of their presentation. That’s just me; maybe this wouldn’t bother the next person, but I notice these things. All in all, I liked my server and the food was spot on.

First time visitor. We live in another county and was coming through Richfield on business. Very Friendly staff, the food was good and very decently priced. I ordered the Cheeseburger ATW with fries, my burger had homemade chili. It was delicious. My husband had the hamburger steak fried okra and cabbage and cleaned his plate.

Just left. Waitress got our drink order brought drinks and then just forgot we existed. First visit her and last one as well. We left after 20 minutes of sitting, watching her clean up some tables and act like she was lost. No thank you.

I like how they bring a variety of good food to the town of Richfield. A great mix of Mexican and American food in a very inviting and casual hometown setting on the end of a really cool convenience store and gas station. It is a great place to stop between Raleigh and Charlotte. I love that the place is family friendly and family operated. There are a lot of dishes I can’t wait to try.

What a great spot! Sat outside and they brought out an umbrella to give us some shade. Huge Arnold Palmer to drink for only like $2.50. Chicken fingers were excellent and the hand cut fries are a must-have. I hope to be back soon to try some of their desserts. Excellent family diner with a throwback feel. And very nice staff!
