I have been eating at Market Place for years and love it! I’ve had many different dishes and celebrated on there holidays. It’s always great. My go to is Market place burger because I love the original gluten free cheese bun and regular fries (I used to get the salad but they started putting granola and cheese on there, not for me, so I don’t even try any more sadly). The truffle fries are amazing but a little heavy, and the tuna poke bowl is great, but to ensure it is gluten free they have to remove the sauce. This time I decided to try the pomegranate spritzer which was a nice change. My friend got the nachos which I have gotten before and LOVED, but unless I’m thinking of someplace I thought the dish was bigger before, but could be wrong. All in all great place and they usually have good regular staff members (though some have changed over the years) which is nice too. They also have a back room for really busy nights, or private events, and the bathrooms are private and nice as well.

Our first time at Market Place and we enjoyed it very much! Our server, Jack, was friendly and attentive. He gave great suggestions. The supplemental waitstaff were also great. Cocktails were well crafted-my husband is an old fashioned enthusiast and said this one sits among his favorites. Food was flavorful and well prepared/plated. We had a great anniversary celebration and look forward to returning!

The menu looked good online and I remembered hearing good things. The actual meal was even better than expected! Possibly the best nachos we’ve ever had. Everything seemed really fresh and nothing was overly heavy. Next time we are in the area we will go back.

I was in town on a work trip and found Market Place Kitchen & Bar – Danbury while searching for top spots in the area. I’m so glad I did—it’s a gem.

When you arrive, the bright red umbrellas on the patio immediately set a fun, vibrant tone. Inside, the ambiance is incredible: low, moody lighting, warm accents, and exposed brick. It feels romantic but equally welcoming for a business dinner or casual night out.

I had read rave reviews about the Brussels sprouts, and they did not disappoint—crispy, flavorful, and elevated by a lemon sauce that made them unforgettable. Generous portion too.

For my entrée, I debated between the crispy chicken sandwich and the Rigatoni Bolognese. Our server recommended the rigatoni, and I’m so glad I trusted her. When I say it was the best bolognese I’ve ever had, I mean it. Rich, deeply flavored, perfectly balanced with herbs, and the whipped ricotta on top added a surprising dimension. The beef and sweet Italian sausage combination was out of this world. My only minor critique was the pasta being a little more al dente than I prefer, but it didn’t take away from how incredible the dish was. Massive portion, too.

My colleague ordered the Kobe burger on the server’s recommendation and thoroughly enjoyed it—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.

Despite being full, we couldn’t resist dessert and shared the S’mores. Moist, chocolate-packed cake layered with ganache, topped with marshmallow meringue, and paired with graham cracker crumble. But the standout? The s’mores gelato sourced locally from Sanlin’s. It was some of the best gelato I’ve ever had and elevated the entire dessert.

Overall, this place blew me away. From ambiance to service to food, it was fantastic. The Rigatoni Bolognese alone is worth the trip. Next time I’m in Danbury, Market Place Kitchen & Bar will absolutely be a required stop.

So glad we didn’t have to wait at all without reservations, we got there by 5:30pm. Very nice touch atmosphere, it’s comfy and no rush feels. Started with espresso martini, it’s very delicious actually taste fresh espresso. Definitely get the crispy Brussels sprouts if you like Brussels sprouts. It’s very crispy and a hint of honey favor is so good combination. Then we got the Kobe burger, it’s just all work together, the mushroom, the caramelized onion and the beef oh yum-o. Also we got the steak and frites, the waitress told us is the shoulder part of the cow, first time trying it, it’s very lean no fat meat but still very tender. Overall very enjoyable dinner for the first time being here. The waitress is super nice and attentive.

Updated review:
this place is tucked away that even though I am on Mill Plain Rd all the time i never noticed. We came here on a sunday. it’s quiet and comfortable. I love the rustic chic decor. Servers and the host were very friendly and attentive. I had the corn chowder and toasted almond french toast. Chowder was delicious, just right amount of cream and not overly salty. It’s loaded with real corn and potatoes. French toast was garnished with crunchy granola and juicy cherries which I found appealing. The plating was beautiful. However, it was too mushy and sweet to my taste. my friend had the Impossible burger on a sourdough but it was a “sour-faux”, not a real sourdough bread. overall we liked the ambiance and the services, we would try other items on the menu next time.

Second visit:
We came back for dinner on a Friday night. We saw many tables ordering Farm to Table so we followed suit. It’s a big plate piled with dried prosciutto, deep fried Brussels sprouts and drizzled with fig jam, topped with pistachios and burrata. Absolutely delicious. We also ordered the 8-hour Korean short ribs, which is tender and flavorful. And the farmers salad came with strawberries and goat cheese, which was a great pairing. All three dishes were wonderful by itself but we felt that eating them together was too much sweetness for a meal.

Nice, clean place with a straightforward menu. Everything tasted fresh and was priced fairly. You can’t go wrong with the burger and the steak frites was generous. There’s also a big drink selection and the service was efficient but we didn’t feel rushed.

Enjoyed a nice Valentine’s Day dinner with my Valentine here. Nice atmosphere with a few pretty floral additions and also had a rose for each couple as a parting gift. Very busy with a bit of a line when we were heading out – was happy to have made a reservation on OpenTable.

Our server, Jess, was awesome. Super nice with a sense of humor to deftly counter my witty commentary. Since both Sauvignon Blancs in the glass were from New Zealand I wasn’t sure which to choose and Jess was kind enough to bring a taste of each. As we were catching up over a delicious IIPA and a glass of wine from the rather large list (but limited availability for glasses vs bottles), we noticed the music was quite loud – not sure if valentines related or typical.

We started with the Farm to Table board which was yummy but should have been called Brussels Sprouts with lots (and lots) of fig jam and a hint of prosciutto. Only a couple thin slices under a mound of fried sprouts. Sprouts were voluminous and tasty but little overdone IMHO. Also needed more salt, pistachios, and burrata.

For our mains, we had the Skillet Roasted Salmon and the Nachos. Salmon was very tasty. We ordered medium rare and it was definitely more cooked through. Nice sweetness in the sauce that complimented the unctuousness of the salmon. Could have used a touch more acid and more of the crunch from the pistachios. Toothsome risotto that was very squashy (in a good way)!

Nachos were huge with a nice layer of melted cheese and a delicious cheese sauce in addition to the chicken. Definitely a good amount of spice – not sure if in the sauce or only from the peppers. Only criticism was the Arugula. I loves me some peppery lettuce, but just felt like an odd addition on Nachos. Actually, another complaint – Top layer was awesome but you’re left with a pile of baked naked chips underneath.

Overall – great atmosphere and good food. Tons of Gluten Free options with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thumbs up!
