My husband and I ate here over the weekend on Saturday 12/13/25 and the ceviche and molcajete were amazing!! Service was great. There was a bit of a language barrier as my husband and I are not fluent in Spanish but everyone was so friendly and we were checked on/refilled multiple times, the karaoke was fun entertainment as well. Only a few tables were sat when we went in and by the time we left at 9pm or so there wasn’t an empty table in sight. I highly recommend!!

Mariscos Playa Azul & Mexican Grill is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious, with fresh, flavorful seafood and perfectly seasoned dishes that leave you wanting more. The tacos and ceviche were standouts for me. The drinks are top-notch too whether it’s a refreshing margarita or a spicy michelada, they hit the spot. I was impressed that they have a virgin option!

What really makes this place special is the fun, welcoming atmosphere. They stay open late, which is perfect for night owls, and they even have karaoke! The staff is super friendly and attentive, making sure you have a great experience from start to finish.

Whether you’re with family, friends, or a big group, this spot is perfect for any occasion. I can’t wait to come back and bring more people along. Highly recommend!

Drove 40 min to this area with my family. While my son was eating he found a hair in his food. This experience made me appalled. My son quotes “I almost puked my soul out”.

It’s really unprofessional to put the blame on a child. When your staff/yourself are not following food safety guideline. We pay $154.75 for this unpleasant experience. Oh by the way the discount offer to this unpleasant experience was $10.00. Has a clinical assistant protocol and safety are key to any patient, customer, client, or consumer. I wouldn’t eat here even if they would pay me $1,000 bucks. Never coming back.

I pulled up on a taco Tuesday didn’t know they had $2 tacos so I had to get one of each. Then I ordered asada sushi and a mix fajita plate, but I ask to add Cheese to the fajita(as you can see in the picture lol). It’s not a real meal unless you have a michelada so I did . Really love this place highly recommend and the vibe is real has like 20 tvs and one is a 14′ TV at least it was the whole wall lol. Don’t sleep on this hidden gem

SEAFOOD WAS NOT FRESH. The shrimps, and octopus were old, dried, and chewy. Not sweet at all. The oysters didn’t taste fresh.

Service was terrible. We had to get the menus ourselves. All 3 workers looked stressed out. Didn’t give us enough utensils. When we asked for 1 fork, it took a long time for the waiter to bring it.

Not all the tables had peppers. The owner is too cheap to buy more pepper containers.

Even paying for the bill took a long time.

THE FOOD HERE IS MEDIOCRE, NOT GOOD NOT BAD. BUT EXPENSIVE SINCE THE FOOD IS NOT GOOD.

The chips weren’t even good. They mix the old chips with new ones. Hopefully they don’t recycle the customers’ unused chips like Los Mocojetes in Menlo Park.

They give you nasty tap water.

The 4 or 5 star reviews are from people who don’t know what good, fresh delicious seafood should taste like.

Once you have tried good seafood elsewhere, you will know what you are missing when you come here.

Get your ceviche and seafood at Aguachile on Jackson Ave and Alum Rock. It is 10 times better than this place. Mariscos San Juan on Senter is good too.

Restroom was dirty. We came in during lunch time, yet there were no paper towels.

The parking lot is terrible. It has abandoned cars and very limited parking. Don’t drive your nice car here. Someone will hit it or break into it.

Most restaurants at this location don’t do well here and close soon after they open. If this place doesn’t improve on their food quality by providing fresh seafood or not over cooking them, we predict that this restaurant will close down in the near future.

Will never come back here again.

Thank you for the poor recommendation Frank aka Mr. Clean.

Yesterday, around lunchtime, I was passing by this place, and hearing its music in the background, I decided to try its food. Despite the staff shortage, the people in charge did everything possible to serve people: provide a fast and friendly service, and bring you food with good presentation, shape, and taste. I appreciate your threefold effort.

I had Chilaquiles rojos, a side of guacamole and huevos con chorizo. I know it is a seafood place, but every time I go to a “Mexican” business, I test their food’s quality, freshness, and seasoning by asking for essential dishes and guacamole.

I was not disappointed; the portions were perfect, the seasoning was there, and the guacamole was prepared to order with fresh products. I need to return to the place to verify that it is a good option.

P.s. The quality of the photos is not very good since it was on the patio area, and the red umbrellas did not help much to “show off the food.”

I didn’t like the food. We ordered empanada , sushi, and side of rice/beans. Everything was cold. Empanada hardly had any meat inside. The sushi combination had a weird and not fresh taste. The rice/beans were cold and bland.
The service was slow, and if you don’t speak Spanish, it can be confusing to communicate with the servers. A group of people got up and left waiting to be helped.
They do have a cool setup to watch a football game. But the server said they don’t sell alcohol.

Atmosphere is cool where you can karaoke if you like. They don’t have a full bar, just serve beer. Food wasn’t that great…pretty bland & overcooked. I had the fajitas with carne asada, chicken & shrimp, rice & beans and the only thing I really liked was the rice.

Visited this spot on Valentine’s Day and right when we walked in we were greeted and seated . Amazing customer service ! Now about the food…. It was DELICIOUS! We got a caldo 7 mares and 2 of their sushi rolls . Whoever made that spicy sauce to go over it nailed it , it was amazing . Their lemonades are to die for ! I had their raspberry lemonade. And our server constantly made rounds and checked in with us . The cook even said goodbye to us on our way out 🙂 10/10 would visit this lovely place again
