I took my workers there for dinner December 23, after we left one of my worker got into a fight with a different guy. The worker told me he left his coat and phone/wallet there. I called the restaurant they said no he only left his hat. I asked to see Camaras to see what happened, they said “we can’t” ” manager not here”. In my point of view maybe they “stole” the worker belongings since they refuse to show us the cameras and what happened. We will not go there again very bad castumer service I will have to have the police involved to figure out the truth.

If you like authentic local place for Mexican seafood this is the place for you. Some of the best rice I’ve had outside of a little Mexican woman I know that makes great Spanish rice. I love places like this where it feels like need to speak Spanish to order. You do not need to speak Spanish to order but it doesn’t hurt. Great value, really good food – I recommend highly! BTW – BYOB

If you are looking for great flavor this is the spot. Next time I visit Chicago I will be eating here again.
Bring your own beer was a first for me, but that doesn’t discourage me.

Food was meh. Service not that great. She forgot to let me know there was only half an order of what I ordered and if I still wanted it, AFTER she served everyone else at our table. What threw me for a loop, was the $59.99 red snapper listed as miscellaneous. When I asked why red snapper was so expensive, she said that was the market value. That’s a lie. I’ve had lobster at fine dining cheaper than that. They fail to disclose market prices, and the waitress will charge her own gratuity of 20% and 4% of the bill if you pay with a credit card. They think people are idiots because no where at any cheap looking run of the mill restaurant is a red snapper going to cost $60 to be served with white rice and salad. This place takes advantage of their community charging fine dining prices on the SE side of Chicago. People need to stop supporting these kind of business.

Pulled up to Mariscos El Malecon for dinner and the vibes were on point. Got the shrimp aguachile and a tostada de ceviche—super fresh, had a real kick to it. Music was bumpin’, felt like a lil party in there. Only knock is it took a minute to get our food, but it was worth the wait. Staff was cool and portions were solid. Will definitely slide back for the molcajete.

First time at the spot. Its was pretty good. We all ordered different things. And shared and everything was . I am not partial to empanadas so an ok rating on those. The staff was nice and friendly as well as efficient. This is a BYOB establishment and they’re is liquor sure right next door. PERFECT for those drinkers out there.
