Mario’s is a great spot for delicious, authentic Peruvian food in a very casual setting. We ordered the ceviche, lomo saltado, and picante de mariscos — everything was well made, full of flavor, and generously portioned for the price. The food tastes fresh and traditional, and the prices are very reasonable. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and the service was quick.

Overall, a solid Peruvian restaurant with great food and great value — definitely worth coming back.

Loved our visit to Mario’s Peruvian! The service was impeccable and the food was fantastic. They’re also very service-animal friendly, which is a big plus for the area. My family has been coming here for over 10 years, and it’s always a reliable favorite — whether dining in or taking out. Highly recommend the Saltado de Marisco and the Lomo Saltado!

This is by far the best Peruvian food in the IE. The only reason I don’t like coming here is the limited parking and the line. Otherwise it’s fantastic. I keep ordering the same items because it’s just too good to pass up. I get the seafood ceviche and lomo saltado. I did notice that the amount of beef has gone down, probably because of the high beef prices these days. Hopefully it corrects itself. Otherwise it’s heavenly.

We have been coming here for 12 years and it is our absolute favorite Peruvian restaurant. the Lomo saltado can’t be beat. service is always great we have seen the same servers for the last 12 years. sometimes the lines can get long but it’s worth it.

We’ve been going here for over 25 years. We were in the area so decided to stop by for dinner. The food is nothing like it used to be.

Been coming here for the past 20 years with my friends and family. Staff and waitresses were so kind and friendly back then but this time it was the most horrible experience with the new staff. When we checked in, they said it was a 45 minute wait. I understood that because food has always been amazing here. My parents, both 78 years old were baking in the sun for 1 hour and 40 minutes in 83 degree weather. I asked the only heavy set hostess if we can stand inside because I seen that we were next. She rudely said no because the tables had to be cleaned up. I seen 5 tables clean and available for the next 15-20 min after waiting outside. I asked the waitress again if we can be seated and she made a smart remark saying that’s life we all have to wait for our turn. No compassion or empathy. Finally, we get seated by one of the waitresses. She says pick any table within minutes of clocking in. Hostess gave us such a hard time and created the worst experience after that. She’s not friendly face for the company and very unwelcoming vibe.
So now we put in our order and waited another 45-60 minutes for the food to arrive at our table. Garbage is on the floor and flys everywhere in the restaurant. Not sure how they got an A. Almost felt on purpose that they left the garbage on the floor next to my father’s feet. I couldn’t enjoy my food. Everything was so disgusting and made me more livid. Waitress tried to be nice and alleviate the situation but it was too late. It’s very sad because I begged my parents to have a wonderful dinner with me at the famous Mario’s but never again. We boxed our food immediately because of all the flys everywhere. Very disappointed with the dirtiness, and bad attitude from everyone and food is not cheap for this type of treatment.

I LOVE this place. I’ve been to other Peruvian restaurants at both ends of the price spectrum and none compare to Mario’s. The food is flavorful and their green sauce is so good. Warning, it is spicy so be prepared especially if you slather your food with it like I do. The mussels are very tangy, zingy, and a staple for me. It has a lot of salsa topping so I usually scrape some of it off and save it for my meal. Be forewarned about their parking. Their food is 5 stars. Their parking is 2 stars and their service is 3 stars. Mario’s has been at this location forever which is a VERY small strip mall with 3 other businesses with only about 20ish parking spaces. It’s just horrible. You may get lucky finding street parking but the area itself is busy and competitive with parking. I highly suggest going when they open or on “off” times to make the experience more bearable. The restaurant itself is small so don’t be surprised if there is a wait as well. Despite all of this, I will fight through all of this to get my fix of Mario’s. Their food is just so darn good. I keep trying other Peruvian restaurants to find a place with easier access and less fuss as Mario’s that is just as good, but I just haven’t found it yet.

Update: So delicious, we had it 2 days in a row…..

Update: Just never gets old!!!!! The food is a bit salty therefore ask for the food with less salt and your golden!

Update: The restaurant is seating now! Better than ever! You’ve never had Peruvian until you try Mario’s!!!!!!

Un-Believable!

I had the Lomo Saltado, and it was delicious. Tender beef, perfectly cooked veggies, and fluffy rice. Portions are generous, and the flavors are authentic. Friendly service and a great spot for Peruvian food in LA. I’m definitely coming back!

Expect a wait of 20-30 minutes, depending on when you arrive. The portions are all generous. Initially, we planned to order two different dishes to sample more options, but upon seeing the size of the plates, we opted for one dish with a salad, which turned out to be a great decision (for 2). If you’re considering taking the food home, definitely go for it—the food was amazing. The green sauce they serve is delicious; just writing this review makes me want to go back and order again! It’s definitely a must-try and worth the wait.
