Cool atmosphere, garbage food.
The sandwich was oversized but surprisingly bland, and the pasta tasted like it had never been seasoned… also bland. The sauce was mostly pasta water, flavorless, and honestly felt unfinished.
Rude staff to top it off. For the hype, this place seriously under delivers.
This is a Glendale staple .if you’re from Glendale, then you know about Mario’s.
Mario’s has everything your heart desires . When it comes to Italian food and products. Their sandwiches are big and will definitely fill you up. My favorite is their pizza. The cheese is my favorite part. They only use fresh cheese and meats. Then to finish my meal. I get the cannoils for dessert. They are amazing. They have a lot more items. Pretty much everything on their menu is good.
Been to Mario’s today in need of four slices of Pancetta for a special dish for my wife and myself.
Could not get four slices – minimum order is a quarter pound. Fine.
Saw the Serrano Ham. Looked good. And no, no four slices, minimum order is a quarter pound. Fine.
Now the pound of Pancetta is $12.99, the Serrano is $14.99.
That would, in my world, be $3.25 and $4.99 – and amount in the area of $7.50, give and take a few cents.
The charge was $10,94. Plus a surcharge for God knows what of $0.33.
Then they suggest a tip. For an over the counter service?
Pancetta and Serrano were delicious, but as a matter of principle, I will not go again.
2025:
I came here because I was told they have fresh pasta. I called to. verify, drove there – to learn the best they have is “fresh frozen”. Sorry, not good enough.
