I’ve been coming here for years, 30+ give or take. I’m always looking forward to a great Italian sandwich. You can order online and pick it up at the store to cut some time. Otherwise, get a number and wait to be called. There is so much to choose from. Love it.

Cool place until you try and get help and people just point in various directions….. and an entire piece of bread in between the sandwich to make it look bigger? Idk if that’s some sort of tradition.

Cool atmosphere, garbage food.

Absolutely delicious! I order a hot pastrami sandwich and husband a cold Mario sub! Definitely the best I’ve had EVER!! The macaroni salad was amazing as well.

Most overrated spot I’ve ever been recommended in LA. I tried both a sandwich and pasta w/sausage… neither impressed.

The sandwich was oversized but surprisingly bland, and the pasta tasted like it had never been seasoned… also bland. The sauce was mostly pasta water, flavorless, and honestly felt unfinished.

Rude staff to top it off. For the hype, this place seriously under delivers.

Go to Mario’s & taste the love! Classic Deli experience and it was awesome. Behind the counter was a group of expert, experienced operators & it showed. Super Fast service and fresh high quality food served in generous portions. Definitely going back to good people who make good food. Thanks, guys!

Finally tried their famous subs… disappointed. Went with their regular ham sub, which I could have easily made at home. They stack a 3rd piece of bread in-between. Why? Never again… not to mention they don’t offer any type of discounts for anything! Except for the city workers of “GLENDALE” only. Really??? The workers and Mario are awesome, but the subs gotta be better.

Mario’s is one of my favorite Italian delis . My mom took me here since I could remember.
This is a Glendale staple .if you’re from Glendale, then you know about Mario’s.
Mario’s has everything your heart desires . When it comes to Italian food and products. Their sandwiches are big and will definitely fill you up. My favorite is their pizza. The cheese is my favorite part. They only use fresh cheese and meats. Then to finish my meal. I get the cannoils for dessert. They are amazing. They have a lot more items. Pretty much everything on their menu is good.

Great old-school Italian deli with excellent sandwiches and difficult to find imported products. Recommended sandwiches are the ham & cheese, London broil and the pastrami. I always get the sandwiches on the roll – they’re really quite good. They often play Italian music which adds a nice bit of atmosphere.

2026:

Been to Mario’s today in need of four slices of Pancetta for a special dish for my wife and myself.

Could not get four slices – minimum order is a quarter pound. Fine.
Saw the Serrano Ham. Looked good. And no, no four slices, minimum order is a quarter pound. Fine.

Now the pound of Pancetta is $12.99, the Serrano is $14.99.

That would, in my world, be $3.25 and $4.99 – and amount in the area of $7.50, give and take a few cents.

The charge was $10,94. Plus a surcharge for God knows what of $0.33.
Then they suggest a tip. For an over the counter service?

Pancetta and Serrano were delicious, but as a matter of principle, I will not go again.

2025:
I came here because I was told they have fresh pasta. I called to. verify, drove there – to learn the best they have is “fresh frozen”. Sorry, not good enough.

One of the favorite places for sandwiches. There are pretty enough choices. You can find subs, pizzas, salads, fresh pasta, Italian cookies and desserts, everything is on the menu. Also, there are vegetarian options. I tried the veggie one with artichokes, mushrooms, avocado, pickles with the regular lettuce and tomato. The taste and quality are very good. I really love their sandwiches. Don’t overlook this place! Highly recommended to visit.
