This little hidden restaurant has one the best cuban cuisine I’ve had! From the service to the food everything was amazing. Mario, the owner, was a sweetheart and provided great service. Everything we ordered was delicious from the shredded beef and chicken fillet to the tres leches dessert! We came during the lunch hour and the prices were great. Highly recommend this restaurant!!

What makes Mario’s Restaurant so special isn’t just the food but Mario himself! My girlfriend and I have been craving cuban food during our trip here. We found Mario’s Catalina and Mario greeted us with the warmest smile. He was closed but still allowed us in because we were leaving the next day. He served us the most amazing three course meal – Empanadas, fish and tres leche with what felt like bottomless sangria! Mario captures the essence of latino love , so happy to have experience his family style cooking and cuban love!

Went for lunch while exploring the area. We were pleasantly surprised with this Cuban restaurant. Decor was very chic they were playing frank Sinatra music would had preferred some Cuban tunes. As we sat we were seved water and plantanito chips with a delicious garlic sauce. For appetizers we ordered ham croquetas and for a entree we got pernil shredded pork our entree came with rice, black beans and sweet plantain. Food was seasoned delightful. I will definitely return with my family when I crave Cuban food. They have outdoor seating and Uber eats.

The owner was very welcoming and hospitable and gave amazing recommendations. We had delicious Mojitos and a crispy fish with a delicious cream sauce, perfect grilled shrimp and white rice and some of the best black beans I’ve ever had and plantains. For dessert we had delicious tres leche cake. Would definitely recommend!

Mario is the absolute best! Me and my girlfriend wanted authentic Cuban food and found this place by a quick search. We were not disappointed! The empanadas were delicious and the Cuban sandwich was exactly what we were looking for! Don’t hesitate in coming here if you want delicious authentic Cuban food with amazing service!

We were looking for a restaurant with the ability to make us feel welcomed, at home and to have amazing food. We found this restaurant and decided to come. We are so happy that we did. From the moment we walked in, the ambience was beautiful. The setting is very nice, as soon as Mario saw us, he introduced himself. The food here is Nothing short of amazing. We had the plantains to share and they are the best I’ve had in a Cuban restaurant. Not one was left on the plane. Lol he brought us some empanadas and OMG they were delicious. We ordered oxtail with Jasmine rice and fried plantains. All I can say about that is that I will be coming back for more of that plate. He made us an authentic Mojito not a drop was left. He brought us a homemade flan. I’m pretty sure you can guess how that went. Empty plate. I can recommend this place feeling good that whoever comes here is gonna have a wonderful and similar experience. Happy eating

I make the trek to this plaza from West Palm because of the Thai place across the way. It was closed for a few days due to Thanksgiving, so I looked up restaurants close by. The reviews for Mario’s were so high that I was glad that I had to try somewhere new.
Unfortunately, I did not have the delightful experience that so many others have. I arrived a few minutes after noon, the height of lunch time. I had looked up to see if there was a lunch menu, and there was. The music was so loud in the place, my server could barely hear me. I am hoping that is the reason why in spite of asking for the lunch menu, I was given what appeared to be the dinner menu. The table I was given was set for four, and in spite of there only being one other table that was occupied, the server could not be bothered to clear the setups. They were left as a pile on the table. There was also an industrial strength fan blowing right at me and I had to ask for it to be moved.
I asked for recommendations and the differences between two of the steak dishes. I was steered towards the slightly more expensive one, which was fine, but my questions were never answered. Since that was my first time, I have no idea if the portion I was given was the lunch or dinner size. As an avid steak consumer, the portion did seem to be on the smaller side. The steak was bland, the only flavour came from the delicious black beans that came with the rice.
When the cheque came, I was charged the dinner price, but the item was listed as a custom item. Which makes no sense since it was clearly a menu staple. Hopefully, this was not to hide the fact that I was charged improperly, but it did not sit well. Needless to say, I did not have a good experience, which was doubly disappointing considering the glowing reviews.

Mario greeted us at the door. He checked in on us throughout our dinner. Made excellent recommendations. The most important thing: the food was outstanding. I mean, absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly. The shrimp was amazing. Everything cooked to perfection. I highly recommend.
