I had not been to Mario the Baker prior to my visit the other day. The family was looking for pizza, and Mario popped up in our Google search. As we pulled up outside, I was skeptical about going in. I couldn’t imagine what I would find entering the place. Much to my surprise and delight, it is a cozy Italian restaurant with white linen tablecloths. We were there for takeout, though, and we wanted pizza. We ordered a large half cheese half pepperoni pizza and an order of garlic knots. The pizza was excellent, with a crispy crust, balanced sauce, ample pepperoni, and cheese. The garlic knots were tasty and garlicky. After our takeout experience, we decided that we are definitely going to go back and have a sit down meal.

Always a great diner! One of the last hoemade Italian food experiences in the Bridgeport area. Fish is alway cooked to perfection, crispy crust pizza, great tender veal. Good atmosphere, attentive waitresses. Cant wait to dine outside, as we are older and the steps to get in are a bit much now-a-days!

Ok so I don’t frequently leave 5 star reviews but let me tell you why I did..I ordered a pizza from my favorite local restaurant (obviously Mario) to be delivered. Usually we have dinner at the restaurant but it was a rough day and I just wanted my favorite food the easiest way possible. I ordered through Mario’s preferred method. I received my delivery and unfortunately it was not what I ordered. I reached out about this and was told they’d deliver he correct item. Let me tell you..30 minutes later I received a delivery from them, not a 3rd party vendor, the actual staff member to make the situation right. Listen..I would have been fine if it was a random delivery person, I just wanted my comfort pizza, but wow…that’s crazy good customer service. The food is ALWAYS good..but if you are on the fence, just know that they treat you like family

Gotta give them 5 Stars because it was a perfect dinner. Our server was outstanding, food was beautiful and tasty. They even gave us the round table by the window. A great choice to celebrate our son’s middle school graduation.

Small restaurant, friendly service. Food is on the expensive side but it’s usually delicious. Careful of upcharges for things, like a certain dressing, etc. Bread for table is usually warm and fresh baked. Yum!

Food is decent. Bread is good. Salads aren’t bad. Though I don’t understand why the chicken dishes don’t automatically come with pasta. Pasta is cheap enough where it should be included and you shouldn’t have to choose between a salad and pasta with those meals. Also, I had the beef barly soup and it was a bit… Weird. White beef, broth was certainly not beef broth either
