Excellent Fish and Chips Shop and Restaurant. The stuff is fresh, you get a lot for your money and the service was really sweet and fast. Seems that also locals go there. One point I really had an issue with was the toilet. When things are old it is one thing but the restroom was dirty and needs a makeover.

Was on the hunt for an easy Saturday night take out and this did not disappoint. Ordered using their online form, and food was ready as I arrived – would highly recommend pre ordering as this is clearly a popular joint with queues almost out the door. We got a large and medium cod, with large chips and peas. This was easily enough for 2 adults and a couple of toddlers, so beware of over ordering with such big portions. Well cooked and v tasty.

Sat in to eat with a view of the pretty road. Ordered 2 kids cod and chips meals for 2 adults as we didn’t want a lot. The size was actually really decent. Cod was fresh and batter crispy, the chips were crispy and soft inside. Best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. Both the server and chef were very polite and helpful.

Came for a visit to Rye with my wife on a Saturday afternoon and as we got hungry, we decided to try the local fish & chips shop.

The hosts were very friendly, greeted us and showed us to a table for 2 by the window that just got freed up.

We took our seats and placed our food order. I had a large cod & chips and a lemonade, whereas my wife got the medium portion of cod with chips and lemonade.

I was debating if I should get the mushy peas or not, as I know the potion is usually small. The host encouraged me to get it and I’m glad I did, as they really put as much mushy peas in the portion as they could.

The chips were piping hot and the fish was nice and flaky, but crunchy on the outside.

The view out the window was also nice, as we could watch people go by and enjoy their day.

Overall a very good experience and whenever we’ll be passing through Rye again, we’ll look to eat here.

Really enjoyed a lovely Saturday treat of Hake and chips with mushy . The chips tasted home made and the batter was light and crispy. Would definitely return.

Great Fish & Chips!
Found this place online and it didn’t disappoint, tasty food, good portions and wonderful service!
The sitting is traditional cafe/dinner style, a bit cosy but okay. I would go again.
To be honest by the time we were leaving there was a queue outside!

We’ve been regular visitors for years, generally been pretty happy. This visit was not as good, but we haven’t been for a while.
The picture is of medium cod and chips, we all thought the fish was a battered sausage due to the size. The flavour of the fish and chips was good apart from the salt. All four meals were seriously over salted to the point that when we opened each one a shower of salt coated our legs and there were piles of visible salt all over the food. If we go back we’ll ask to season our own. Staff are friendly.

The fish is good quality and very fresh, chips come with each meal and the tea is standard.
Battered sausage is okay and can be bought separately. The main standout would be the fresh cod.
If you prefer you can sit in to eat your meal though it does not seem obvious. It is quite hidden but there is a door next to the shop. Table service is fast. It is quite a small space and gets quite noisy as it becomes quite full. The doors on each side of the room open and slam shut with a loud bang every now and again. Atmosphere is not the best, good for a quick eat not good for a date. It gets quite busy on a Saturday evening and we were lucky to get a table. I think they close their table service around 8pm.
