It was our first time trying this establishment and our waitress was amazing. She was so nice and helpful. Her recommendations were great. I had the Tuscan shrimp pasta and my husband had the Cajun chicken pasta. The flavors were so good. It also came with choice of soup or salad. We both had a salad with a house dressing. They also gave us complimentary bread and we asked for dipping oil which was also delicious. We ate till we were full and had some to bring home. We also decided on getting a hot lava cake to celebrate the occasion to bring home but sounds like a marvelous dish served in house. Definitely will be coming back as we hear the calzones are very popular.
The service was great. Ken kept our glasses topped, his timing on checking on us was great, and his attentive demeanor was well balanced; not lacking, nor overbearing, just right.
The main dining room is tastefully decorated, though the chairs are the sort you’d find in an uncomfortable waiting room from the mid-1990’s. I knew immediately that I’d prefer the booth seat.
I ordered the chicken marsala with tomato bisque and fettuccini alfredo. Regarding the bisque, it was quite good and served with a loaf of bread. The butter was hard like it just came out of the fridge. The bisque was good, if a bit plain.
The main course of chicken marsala and fettuccini alfredo was quite also quite plain with salt being the seasoning of choice. I think the meal would have been much enhanced with some more spices, but I understand that in the southern states, seasonings are sometimes looked at with suspicion.
The server was very friendly, though spread thin. He seemed to be the only server at lunch hour on a weekend. He was attentive despite being very busy. I think most waiters might have been overwhelmed but he seemed to be handling the restaurant very well.
