My honest take on dining at Marina Pizza & Pasta at SF Bay area… it’s a solid Italian specialty spot. Good thing they’re open till late night, makes it easy after a long day. The host and chef are super welcoming and they have seating and dining area. They sell pizza by the slice so you can try different ones, plus salads and pastas are on point. Portions are big, prices fair – definitely feels like value for money. Worth a visit if you’re around. Traveler Tips
– Great late‑night option, don’t worry about closing early.
– Try pizza by the slice – perfect way to sample different flavors.
– Portions are generous, so maybe share if you’re not too hungry.
– Central SF Bay area location, easy to reach after a walk or hangout nearby

This pizza restaurant is an absolute standout. From the moment you walk in, the warm, inviting atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The pizza is simply exceptional—crispy, thin crust with just the right amount of char, topped with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The sauce is rich and flavorful, and the cheese perfectly melted. Whether you go for a classic Margherita or one of their more creative specialty pies, every bite is a delicious experience. The service is friendly and efficient, and the staff is knowledgeable about the menu. With generous portions and great prices, this place offers fantastic value. Whether you’re a pizza connoisseur or just craving a great slice, this restaurant delivers every time. Highly recommended!

The staff was nice. But we came in and it seemed like they had JUST started cooking the pizza we ordered half an hour before online, even though the place was almost completely empty. The inside of the place had a bad smell. AND they forgot to include the ranch we paid extra for. The pizza was decent, but very thin where it just feels expensive for what you get. I’m a fan of thin crust, but this was nothing special – it was a little floppy and undercooked

Late night eatery on Lombard St dishing out great pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. I had the meatball sandwich, which was huge. The prices are friendly on the pocket, staff are very nice, and 2000-era hip hop videos enlighten the dining experience.

That thin crust is on the money! Pizza tastes great and ingredients tell you pizzas from other places just aren’t as fresh. And this is not the greasy kind. Friendly staff front to kitchen. Small and comfortable area to sit. This place cares about the quality of its food and the people who enjoy it. Thank you so much!! Oh, and loved the special tea.

The best food my Wife and I tried I a very long time. Fresh and light ingredients. On top of all the food the owner Mo is just and amazing person. From the moment we stepped inside this place he was very welcoming and helpful with everything. At the end of our food experience he gave us baklava for free to try. Thank you Mo and we will be back here for sure.

First off Moe is an awesome guy and really friendly. Its always nice to recieve service from someone who is clearly doing a good job and staying positive. We need more people like him! I had the meat lasagna and it was very good. I am amazed at the price and the quality especially compared to other italian restaurants in the area which are sometimes double the price and definitely not as good. Marina Pizza and Pasta is not skimping on ingredients as I feel the ratio of the ingredients are just right and the ingredients are fresh. I find that some places dont use enough sauce, spices, meat, or cheese but thats not a problem here. I plan on going here again tonight and I am so glad I found it. Flavorful, mouth-watering, and satisfying. Thanks for running a solid establishment!

Tasty pizza, I think they’re all made to order on the spot as it was approx 5-10min wait for whole pizza, (I say think bcos you can’t see the kitchen) with fresh ingredients. Staff were really polite and friendly which really does add to the experience. Ordered the 14inch (8 slices) margarita which was very nice and plenty for me and my bf. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is the price. USD$28 (incl taxes and whatever else) for a cheese pizza is too much. I knew the price before going in but it was late and needed something easy. I’m glad for $28 the pizza was delicious. As you can see from the photo the pizza isn’t exactly loaded so I don’t understand the price point.

When I was in the Army, stationed at the Presidio of San Francisco from 1983-1984 (42 years ago), I remember there being a pizza restaurant on the north side of Lombard Street near the intersection of Pierce. I never recall eating pizza inside this particular pizza restaurant, just ordering take out, and they delivered to our barracks. I think this was the most popular, possibly only pizza restaurant that delivered to The Presidio.

I just remember them delivering pizza to my barracks room late in the evening, usually around midnight. I always ordered the same sausage and mushroom pizza. The sauce was perfectly tangy, the dough both crispy and chewy, the sausage was perfectly spiced, possibly having fennel in it and the mushrooms were fresh, not canned. They never skimped on the toppings. This is the pizza that I measure all other pizzas against. It was an amazing pizza. I wish I could go back in time and eat it again to relive the experience.

Well, AI suggests there was a Marina Pizza at 2386 Lombard St. that moved 2139 Lombard St, at some point. Of course, I can’t remember the name of the pizza place from the 1980s but I’m thinking this is the same place.

Anyhow, next time I make it to San Francisco, I’ll have to drop by this location to see if it’s still as good, if in fact it’s the same restaurant.

So, my review might be a little untimely, take it with a grain of salt. But if this is the same restaurant from 42 years ago, it was the greatest pizza of my 61 years, anywhere on Earth!!

If anyone can confirm whether these two places are the same, I’d love to know.
