I was pleasantly surprised by my experience dining in at a taqueria in the middle of Shepherdstown WV. I noticed the decor first as soon as I walked in, beautiful art on the walls and the seating was spacious yet efficient for the space. The music played overhead at a level that was not disruptive to conversation and I was also greeted with a warm welcome from the young man at the register. I ordered the #2 menu item “Maria’s Chimi” and I even customized it adding some spicy cheese on top. The personal customization of the menu allowed was very appealing to me and my taste buds. I also tried their Creme soda which is pictured below, hadn’t had that in years! Everything was so good I even ordered a meal to-go, the #3 menu item called “Ghost-face ‘Dilla” a spicy quesadilla that was just as delicious as the first meal I ordered. I will be back for sure, and will be celebrating a Taco Tuesday here when they have their live music again!

This place will ruin you for Mexican! No other place for miles, or towns away, will EVER do! So worth eating at Maria’s! My very favorite is the tacos…fish or meat! So fresh! I just wanted to say, how nice it is to see an owner treat their employees so well! In turn, the employees seem happy (not necessarily well fed, but truly happy)
