Only the best pizzeria’s are named after a love story! Maria’s Pizzeria is the sister restaurant to Angelo’s Bistro now know as Lucca’s Italian Chophouse. The names of our restaurants are no coincidence. Angelo and Maria were the founders of Angelos Bistro. When James Lane took over Angelos, he wanted to always honor its beginning and Italian roots. So when it was time to open this pizzeria there was only one name Maria.

Not a good experience at all – will probably not be going back!
We were left waiting at our booth for quite a while before a server finally approached. By that point, we decided to give our entire order — drinks, appetizer, and entrees — all at once to save time. Our waiter informed us they were already out of garlic knots (at 7 p.m.), which was disappointing. He suggested the focaccia bread instead, which arrived without the accompanying sauce. Despite trying to flag down our waiter, we eventually had to ask a hostess for the missing sauce.
When our pizzas arrived — delivered by a runner, not our server — we were again left to scramble for basics. The cheese pizza had a flat, tough crust, and the margherita pizza was lackluster with barely any basil and a sauce that was more acidic than flavorful. We weren’t given any plates and once again had to track down the hostesses to get them. They brought one. For a table of several people.
Service throughout was inattentive and disjointed. Getting the check and takeout boxes (which were too small) took more waiting and chasing down staff.
Overall, the experience was frustrating from start to finish. Between the missing items, mediocre food, and lackluster service, we left wondering what exactly our neighbors saw in this place. We won’t be rushing back.
I’ve only done carryout but every time I’ve walked in, the pizzeria smells incredibly Italian.
The girls at the hostess stand are the only staff I’ve talked to so I don’t know how the service is. I would imagine it’s good being there’s always a lot of cars in the parking lot
We go to Maria’s each Thanksgiving season (plus any other visits we make to OIB). The food is incredible and the people match that. Awesome.
The service is fine, atmosphere is pleasant, and the food is pretty good. Nothing spectacular, but the portions are generous and filling.
My wife & I wish we had shared the Tuscan Salmon over Pasta with Spinach & Alfredo Sauce, as we would have probably still had leftovers. Salmon needed a little more seasoning, but the pasta was delicious.
Our daughters enjoyed the pizza.
Salad dressings were pretty bland, which was too bad, as the House salad itself was quite good – fresh mixed greens and vegetables.
Overall decent, but not our favorite this trip.
