I never thought I would be writing a review like this. I’ve never had an issue here and normally love the food and service until today.
Today I ordered 2 ala carte items….a street taco and regular carne asada taco. The street taco normally only comes with onions and cilantro and the regular tacos like the carne asada comes with pico and guacamole. My son had to pick up my order for me and when he brought it back home, the tacos looked like someone just threw them in the container and the carne asada taco only had meat and onions. I figured maybe it was an oversight or maybe they were busy and just in a rush, so I called.
The lady who answered the phone was not very nice and when I tried to explain that there was an issue with my order, it seemed like there was a miscommunication, so I told her I could just come and bring my order so she could see. When my son took me there, the same lady on the phone had a not so nice attitude and there was a bunch of eye rolls and smirking from her.
The guy that was cooking came out of the kitchen, laughed at the situation because while I was explaining and pointing out the obvious what was wrong with the order, the lady kept shrugging at me and kept saying “See, pico and guacamole is right there” in reference to the carne asada taco. She was pointing at it like there was something on there when there was none at all. When I asked where is it, with a straight face she kept saying it’s right there with a smirk. Then I asked about a refund and the guy laughed and said they couldn’t do a refund I have to get one through the app and she echoed the same thing.
The way I was spoken to and handled was like I was dirt and beneath them. It hurt me so bad to the point of tears and that’s when the lady offered to fix the situation. My order was remade and then she showed me my order and asked if it was okay and then apologized. I really don’t understand why she didn’t do that in the first place. I wouldn’t wish being treated like that on anyone.

Best authentic Mexican food I’ve had in the Waukee area. Plenty of options and huge portions for the price. I always get the 2 burrito combo with ALL the sauces! 10/10

Had the best experience with excellent food and a relaxed atmosphere. We had the #23 steak fajitas with jalapeños and the #10 choripollo. Both meals were full of flavor and will absolutely be back. Great selection of sauces too.

Went through the drive through, and ended up having to wait for close to ten minutes at the window for the food to come out. Then once the food came out we started checking it, as we always do, and it took us a minute to do so as we had ordered a lot. But it’s a good thing because they forgot our chips and queso.
That took another couple of minutes and we were out of the drive through.
They apologized for the mix up and were very friendly overall.
Based on the information I’ve told you thus far that doesn’t sound like a positive review. However I have to say the food itself made up for a lot!
All the flavors were amazing. There wasn’t a thing that we ordered that wasn’t delicious and still piping hot when we got home 10 minutes later.
Overall fantastic food, good service, I just think this time they missed the mark slightly for timing.

tasteless. fake. wont be ordering from here again. was hoping for authentic mexican flavor but was very disappointed :((
tortillas aren’t even homemade, and i ordered extra because i thought they were lol. my guess, they’re the cheap store bought ones.
rice looked good but again tasteless. i chose this place based off ratings but i’m sure this place has been rated by people with no tastebuds and people who’ve never had REAL, AUTHENTIC, mexican food. coming from a mexi/latina, this place is not it.

This is my spot, but their price raises are out of control – and that’s with nationwide price raises in-mind! Common food price-raises aside, they even charge for tomatoes and sour cream now – and $1 for tomatoes PER taco and almost $2 for small thing of sour cream! They’ve literally gone from reasonable to right there with more expensive Mexican restaurants.. Come on, Maria’s.. SMH

We met or son for lunch here today and left impressed with the quality of the food. It is fast-food style where you order at the counter and wait for your food to be brought out and the atmosphere is average…but I can overlook those things for great food, which they delivered.
The chicken, beef, guacamole and other toppings were plentiful and really tasted fresh. Just one of the tacos would have been enough, but I really wanted to try both of them. You won’t be disappointed with the food if you stop here.
