We ordered a cake for my sisters birthday party. We wanted fresh strawberries and chocolate pudding in the cake. They had no fruit in it and no pudding. It was a cream. We obviously paid for those things as well. Very disappointed. We tried calling multiple times to speak to someone and nobody was there to take our call and the counter never had them call us back.

I will never use Maria’s Bakery again for anything. The most horrible service I have ever experienced, and I went in personally, days before my event to order and leave a deposit. Would you believe that I was told when I went in for my order, “We have no vanilla cupcakes; we are going to give you chocolate and charge less.” It was for my son’s birthday party; that day; and he only likes vanilla. Well, I was less than pleasant at that point; angry and rude even, but COME ON!!! You are a bakery and have NO vanilla cupcakes? STOP!!! Suddenly, my scene, which I am not necessarily proud of, produced my original order. I am not sure what these crooks were trying to pull, but for sure DO NOT use them for an event. NOT reliable or remorseful. The Italian owner/ manager hid with her Italian speaking friends while I was obviously upset and trying to pull together my son’s first birthday event. Selfish, self-centered and cowardly. She could care less. Never even apologized. It’s ok…I believe in karma.

This bakery was highly recommended by friends’ and family for their service and treats. So, I decided to order a custom birthday cake from them for my daughter’s birthday. I submitted my order a week prior and sent an image via email that they would printout and layer it on top of the cake. My wife picked up the cake the day prior to the occasion. The bakery packaged the cake without showing my wife the end product for customer satisfaction, and sent her on her way. As they were packing it up, at a glance, my wife got a glimpse and the image on top of the cake appeared wrinkled. But thought to herself, staff would have said something if there were any issues with the cake. My wife got home and placed it in a cool dry place until the next day. As we were preparing for the birthday, on the next day, I opened up the box and noticed that the top image was not placed completely flat, causing the wrinkles. I also noticed that they only bordered the cake with one color, not 2 as ordered. The image would have been placed first prior to adding the border decorations (piping), it appears that it was rushed and not taken seriously. The border decoration (piping) should have been 2 colors, yellow & blue, but they only used yellow. I called to inform them of the issues and lack thereof, but all I got was excuse after excuse. When I finally advised the woman over the phone that I wasn’t asking for a refund ($55.11) or another cake, because I needed the cake, since the birthday party was in a couple of hours. She then stopped with the reasoning/excuses and stated she would talk to the person who prepared the cake. After we served the cake, I notice that the chocolate sponge they used was very, very thin. Although this bakery does prepare very good pastries, making custom cakes isn’t their forte. They should just stick to making pastries, or hire someone who knows how to make cakes. I will not be ordering custom cakes from them again. I had a better experience ordering from BJ’s with the same request a couple years back.

My first time stopping by and was impressed by the variety and service. I ordered rainbow cookies, chocolate covered strawberries and a classic cheesecake. The cookie had too much moisture, almost cakey. The cheesecake was okay but the strawberries were not sweet or ready. The chocolate they used was the same for the rainbow cookie so I wont be ordering fruit based goods from them. Otherwise the service was amazing! I would go back for the traditional Italian cookies and maybe some Italian or French Products they sell.

Went to get cookies and pastries for my mom and room-mate who was recuperating at Kessler rehab. Person assisting was friendly but she kept picking cookies that fell off the tray onto the shelf (probably not dirty?) and into my box. I stayed quiet / blind because I was trying to stay in a positive mindset as my mom was learning how to walk again at Kessler. Karma. We get what we give out. In case there is confusion as to who I am, I visited in the early morning couple of weeks ago. Also Korean/American just as frame of ethnic reference.

Love this place. Everything is delicious and the place is very clean. Fresh coffee available, too if you want to sit and eat something here. Staff is friendly. It can get crowded .. so go at an off time and it will be empty!

Absolute worse service. I waited a while before even being acknowledged, had to fight my turn in line just to order and when I said I want to add a few more things to my order, I get an attitude and eye roll! Sorry for patronizing your business, won’t do it again!
