They burnt my red velvet cake it was soo dry and hard I couldn’t even cut through the cake and they refused to give me a refund with no reasonable answer as to why only that its policy and they never showed me that policy before ordering a cake which tells me that this happens alot with not giving a refund. They need to work on their costumer service I will never order a cake here again.

Great display of sweet treats for your sweet tooth’s satisfaction! They don’t have many cakes on display to purchase as a whole, but maybe it was the time I went. Otherwise, it was a great selection of slices to choose from.

The carrot cake is honestly disgusting. The frosting just tastes like frozen butter and it’s supposed to be cream cheese frosting. Not sure how they could screw up something so basic but they did don’t buy it!

Yum yum, mouth watering carrot cakes, tiramisu, tres leche, chocolate pyramid and my favorite mango fruit passion.

I was introduced to this bakery roughly 5 years ago and have been a regular since! Maria’s pastries are hands down the BEST value for the money. They are a small bakery who put a lot of effort in their craft. I remember the days when they had less than 5 different types of pastries on display and not a lot of customers but today, there’s a healthy selection of sweets to choose from and a line out the door! Their popularity is organic as i’ve never seen them advertise. Word of mouth has been the reason for success.

My personal favorite dessert is the W&D pyramid cake. It’s not overly sweet and the presentation is great. They also have an insanely good chocolate “tres leches” cake that is heavenly. I’ve probably been here over a dozen times to buy pastries for celebrations and everyone loves it! I’ve ordered the cheesecake for my sister’s birthday and it was perfect. Looks presentable and tastes excellent.

I normally buy my cakes in San Francisco but trying to support local businesses. I had Maria’s cakes before and I figured to just order a cake for my birthday this time around.

I came in on Saturday to pick up my cake. They have 2 lines, one for pre order and one for walk ins. Being that it was EMPTY, I felt going straight to the cashier would be ok. Instead I got a snippy response from the guy behind the register letting me know that next time I would come in to go to the “pre order” line. At first I was like HUH? There is no one here, why does it matter? I also can read and understand English, I did see the sign, but again NO ONE WAS THERE. Afterwords it started to settle in. Why was his comment necessary? If I was standing in line of it would have been busy, I understand. But it wasn’t. It really boiled my blood that he said that, he must have some big ego to talk to people like that.

Well, you’ve lost a customer. I would rather go to another bakery than go back to Maria’s with their rude customer service!!

I had pumpkin cheesecake. Delicious. And all the prices were very reasonable. Especially given the current cost of things today. Nice to see a small business keeping cost down and succeeding.

Very close friends of mine ordered a cake there for their daughter’s 15th birthday(Quincera) The mom and daughter ordered strawberries only inside the cake. When they cut the cake at the party, instead of strawberries, there was banana and kiwi!!! The daughter and parents were both upset and disappointed. Not only that, the cake was very dry, not moist at all.Even worse Maria’s charged $700 for the cake. When the mother went in the next day, an employee told her they would give her an $80 store credit!!! The family and the relatives have spent close to $20,0000 dollars there in the past 10-15 years. I emailed the owner 5 days ago and she has still not responded!!! The family will no longer do business with them. $700 for a no frills simple 2 tier cake is egregious, exploitive, and borders on criminality.
