It was quiet when we came in (2:45) but quickly filled up and got loud with people. We sat at the bar and our bartender/server was on point, given the number of drinks he had to keep making. He never slowed down. Our food was excellent and authentic. This is our new favorite place to grab an early bite. We will definitely be back, maybe even this trip.

Loved this place. So festive. The staff was nice. A band strolled through playing music. Added to the atmosphere. Decorations were bright and colorful. The food was good, could have used a little more seasoning. Very filling. I needed a nap after my meal. Being close the the market, gave us a chance to walk off breakfast. The bakery sits next to the restaurant. The baked goods were inviting. You may have to choose, food or baked goods. You will pop if you have both. Get the baked goods to go. The entrance may confuse some people. You pass by bakery then check I’m for dining room.

Terrible service here. We sat at the end of the bar next to a couple from Kansas. They started complaining that they had ordered beers and drinks and never got them. We ordered nachos and never got them. We watched about ten different employees at the other end of the bar, by the restrooms, talking the entire time. The Kansas couple and my party kept making comments about this. To get our bills paid the guy had to walk to the restaurant inside. It took forever. I thought Mi Tierra lost my credit card with the nachos that never came.

We were hungry and thirsty but Mariachi bar didn’t seem to care. We were prepared to spend money but Mariachi bar didn’t want to have that. Whatever. We moved to another restaurant nearby and ate and drank there instead.

Bartender never questioned why our nachos never showed up. Thankfully they weren’t on our bill. We should have spoken to a manager. I would still like to do that. I may email them this review to let them know they lost some business from multiple parties. All of this on a Friday during happy hour?

My martini didn’t even taste like it had alcohol in it. It had a distinct flavor of ice water.

We won’t be back. We won’t bring our relatives from out of town here. Might as well just eat somewhere else cuz this ain’t it. So disappointed in this place, we drove an hour to come here. Never again.

UPDATE JAN 2026:
After posting this review, I decided to email their corporate owners. I never received a reply or acknowledgement. It’s safe to say that Mariachi bar does not care. Does not care about your experience or their lack of customer service. I would recommend friends and family to avoid this place.

The bar is part of the restaurant. There are 3 areas: restaurant area, bar, and bakery. The bathrooms are located in the bar area. They were super clean. The bar area was packed and there were plenty of attentive bartenders. The bar is stunning – visually. I would recommend stopping in and having a drink before going to eat. There’s a small balcony within the bar area. Try the bar out if you just want to visit!

I really dont really mind if server is unfriendly but it was really Disgusting. I ordered one Soda and a beer and just saw that Male Server scratched his hair with my straw. Omg. And asked for slice of orange for beer but he provided orange on napkin. If you dont want to work then dont. Your attitude ruined my day.

Love place, shows all Mexican best culture, its an excellent environment to drink a margaritas and listen the amazing trio of Mexican singers with very selective songs of Mexican classics.
Delicious Mexican food and excellent attention. To detail , I highly recommend the best cousine

This is the biggest tourist trap bar in the city. Mariachi Bar survives on people waiting for a table at Mi Tierra, and locals never suggest going here. If you end up here, make sure you’re with a tourist. The color and ambiance is perfect for giving people a taste of what they think San Antonio is like without visiting anything noteworthy in San Antonio. Order them a huge overpriced margarita. Tourists love huge over prices margaritas.

I did not go to the Mariachi Bar to eat it was more for the bakery because I have heard good things about it. I loved the look inside but they did have a private security there so that made me feel uneasy so it means there is was trouble in this restaurant. I did not hear any mariachi playing but I saw them. Now on the deserts. They had many different ones but I feel that you could of got theses baked goods at any Mexican market that sells pastries. As you can see from my receipt I bought a few but there was a problem. Nothing with the restaurant but I had a couple of pastries when I got home and the next day I was not feeling well at all. I am not sure if it was the sugar but my legs were shaking and it did not stop for a couple of hours. After it stop I threw out the rest of the pastries. I hate wasting food but my health is more important then what I spent. All it all I would try to eat there next time to see what its like. Also good luck finding free parking because it was a pain but if you do not mind paying for parking then its no problem.

Good selection of drinks. Beautiful decoration. It’s the only place where I can find one of my favorites Mexican sweet pink cocktail named Media de Seda. Recommended
