This is a really great little very authentic Argentinian restaurant. The empanadas are as authentic as they come. Definitely have the Diego and the Argentina, both of which very closely resemble the empanadas you would get on any street in Buenos Aires.

The staff is great, especially Anna. She always greets us with a smile, and just has an overall great energy. She really adds a lot to the place and the experience.

We’ve ordered empanadas here before, for a family night, but recently attended an empanada making / wine pairing event and what an amazing time we had! It was so much fun, and you get to eat what you make so there was value in it as well. Victor was fantastic pre event and Lorena is a treasure.

Killer empanadas and an awesome vibe inside! Grabbed 3 empanadas to go- corn, mushroom, and egg and potato. Corn was definitely my favorite, but they were all really good. Service was fast and friendly. Loved how many vegetarian options there were!

Maria Empanada was a highlight of my time on South Broadway. The space has a distinctly Argentinian café feel, warm and inviting, with beautifully balanced coffee and café offerings that feel intentional rather than rushed. The empanadas were fresh, crisp, and thoughtfully prepared with well-seasoned fillings that didn’t feel heavy.

One of the best parts — you can see the mountains from the shop, which makes it the perfect place to slow down, reset, and enjoy something made with care. I’ll absolutely return next time I’m in Denver.

Beautiful Argentinian café, very well decorated and with lots of available seating. The biggest highlight is that they stay open late, which is rare for Denver coffee shops. The location is good, but parking can be tricky depending on the time. Food quality is good, but portions are small and prices feel a bit high. Service was disappointing — staff wasn’t rude, but they were cold and robotic, missing the usual warm vibe you expect from Latin places. Worth visiting once to try their empanadas, but I probably wouldn’t return often or perhaps at all.

I was born and raised in Argentina so I know what I’m talking about. This is what they served me. The empanadas looked like if they were taken out of a crematorium. Plus, one of the employees gave me 1 broken empanada that I forgot to take a picture because I immediately asked her to change it. Both employees, the woman and the man didn’t seem happy to be there. They aren’t friendly as you would expect from a place that is so warm and welcoming like my country, but of course they were not argentines. I wish they would hire more friendly and efficient staff. I was pissed. I didn’t have the best experience at Maria Empanada. Also, the prices are ridiculously high and I know because I make empanadas from scratch myself. This place is just overrated. Honestly I walked away with a sad vibe because I wanted to be close to home for a little bit and then these people are so rude. I’m glad I claimed and I didn’t eat the broken empanada. She said sorry but it’s like you don’t see what you’re serving? She didn’t want to be there at all. I took notes on the name of the manager and I’m gonna complain directly to her. If you’re reading this review, go to Rincón Argentino instead. The staff is AWESOME and the food is amazing.

If you are visiting Denver, MARIA EMPANADA IS A MUST TRY! This was my first time ever visiting in Denver and since the first night my girlfriend and I arrived we’ve been so excited to try Maria Empanada (as soon on Guy Fieri Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives)

THE HYPE IS WORTH IT

We tried 6 different Empanada that were all described to us by Julio who happened to be working during the time we came in. He was super nice and welcoming, explained to us all the different dishes they had to offer and even let us try the sauces for our first time!

I highly recommend their sweet barbecue empanada as it is a limited time item at the moment.

My girlfriend highly recommends the sierra, cause it almost has that taste of a chicken quesadilla!

Overall we will definitely be coming back to Maria’s and thank you to Julio for being outstanding

We’ve visited Maria Empanada several times, and it’s always a true pleasure to come back.
The empanadas were, as always, absolutely delicious — but what truly made the difference was the service.

The dark-haired young lady who attended us was simply delightful: sweet, kind, and attentive to every detail.
She took the time and care to personally bring our food to the table and made sure everything was perfect. ✨

People like her truly make the difference and make you want to return.
We’ll definitely be back soon!

What a great experience today Maria Empanada (Broadway)! Yummy empanadas and coffee.
It is really cool how they are able to stamp the name of the empanada directly on it.

Atmosphere was comfortable, relaxed, great staff, and I was able to get work done while I ate.

Definitely recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
