We ordered a today’s special which was a fish dish mixed with creamy rice, an Octopus rice, and a Red Fruit Sangria with side fries. Everything was well-cooked and in high quality, and we were so delighted to spend a night here. Huge shoutout to Mauro and Jana who made us feel super welcomed!
Overall, I would recommend everyone in Lisbon to try their food whenever they can 🙂
Thanks to Mauro, jana and isabela, the service is top-notch — prompt, courteous, and always with a smile. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, showing real care and quality in every dish. What stood out the most was how the team went above and beyond to make our dining experience special.
Great service staff and manager, Ewerton took great care of us. Food was so good we went there twice for dinner on our 1 week visit to Lisbon.
The Seafood Cataplana (stew) is highly recommended.
The I also ordered a sericaia, which is softer than a sponge cake with cinnamon powder on top. Very nice texture. Not overly sweet. The honey adds to the flavour and plum adds another layer of flavour.
The service was great as well. Shout out to Jana, Mauro and Manuel.
I would recommend anyone coming to Alfama to try this restaurant.
We went here our first night in Lisbon, after a recommendation from our (nearby 5-star) hotel. There was lots of people, and I can se why! We had lovely service from everyone involved, especially from Arat. It wasn’t the fanciest atmosphere, but genuine.
We had the shellfish cataplana with spiny lobster, and it was really amazing!!! A good amount of delicious seafood with an equally delicious sauce. The wine wasn’t quite as good unfortunately, but it didn’t really affect our great impression. We also had a very nice fresh octopus salad and a crème caramel (which tasted a bit omelett-y and wasn’t quite to our taste, but we did get warned before though). For a beer, a sangria, an appetiser, two main courses, a bottle of wine and dessert we paid 128 €. Since it was our anniversary, they also treated us to some port wine!
We also went here a second time because I really loved the food, and once again I had the amazing cataplana! This time with a good wine as well (a buttery mar de Lisboa). My boyfriend on the other hand had a flavourful pretty nicely cooked São Miguel sirloin steak. For two drinks, two dishes, and two glasses of wine we paid 78 €.
The food is exceptional and the service always above what one would expect…Perfect in every way.
My personal favorite of the management team is “Mauro”, who always made us feel welcome.
Not forgetting all the amazing staff, in particular the professional service of the friendly “Hira” who’s service is unmatched and always with a smile.
This is 100% how a restaurant should be.
The kitchen took 30 minutes but we were told beforehand kitchen is full so we are cool with that. All the food came at the same time so it’s perfect for us as we were sharing. The starter clams wasn’t too good as the clams were rather small but the sauce were good. But wow the octopus really blew us away. The texture was perfect and easily the best we have had in the last 2 weeks we were here. 11/10! The chef special cod fish risotto was excellent as well, the cod fish fresh and very flavourful umami risotto. 10/10. And of course for the last dinner in Portugal we have to get the francesinha which was really excellent and one of the best we had. 10/10. Finally we had the worst chocolate cake which was more like a brownie really but is all good as well. What a dinner and beautiful way to cap off our holidays in Portugal❤️
Been in Lisbon for 5 days and this is by far the best meal we have eaten!!
Highly recommend you make a reservation, if not come before opening hours for dinner. Came at around 6:20PM (10 minutes before opening) and was able to get a spot but only outdoors as a group of 4.
