This restaurant serves a wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes, each bursting with bold flavors and perfectly balanced spices. The quality and taste truly capture the essence of traditional Mexican cuisine. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy a great meal. Overall, I’d rate my experience an 8/10—a place I’d gladly recommend to anyone looking for genuine Mexican flavor and a satisfying dining experience.

Bloomington-Came to Twin Cities to support small local businesses (we encourage you to do the same they’ve had a tough few months). Nick suggested this for supper, it’s easy to find, large capacity seating, you could smell the goodness stepping out in to crisp winter air.

Staff are phenomenal, owner I’m guessing greeted us on the way in, asked me how it was on the way out. Told him we came from Iowa to support small businesses he was appreciative.

Bring your appetite because portions are large. I tried not to eat my whole meal in one setting but couldn’t help myself! Large menu, prices seemed fair (after tasting the meals the prices were cheap – great food).

So glad Nick suggested going here!

I went with my daughter. We got the barria street tacos. If you order 5 of them at $4 ea. it comes with free consome. So worth it! Our server was so sweet! She even took our picture while we were being silly wearing the beautiful sombreros. It was a great random find but we will drive the 2 hours to go back. Our server was also in the National Guard serving our country.

I and a friend go out to dinner every other weekend. I have to say I had the best dinner I have had in at least the last two years. I ordered a shrimp fajita. The flavor of the shrimp and the cooked onions and green pepper were absolutely delicious! Also, the service was top notch! Sabino was our server and he made sure everything was fine and doing this without being overwhelming. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant and, of course, the shrimp fajita.

This place has gone downhill within the last couple of months. I tried ordering pozole they didn’t have any. I tried odering tacos de chorizo they also didn’t have any. The small cup of consomé they give is a joke. They used to give a bigger cup. They also used to start you off with free chips & salsa & now they don’t. Atleast they didn’t offer it to me & my partner. Later a white family came & sat next to us they did not order chips and salsa but Yet the same server that we had brought them chips and salsa to start off. If that doesn’t tell you anything then I don’t know what to tell you about this place. There’s better Mexican food around the area save yourself sometime and go to La Hacienda instead.

Amazing food, a kind of retro diner feel, really great staff that even let me try one of the agua frescas before I ordered it. We will absolutely be back.

This place serves authentic Mexican food. Personally, I do prefer Tex Mex, myself but I appreciate good authentic cooking. We ordered the Birria Res (Red beef stew). I’ve never had birria before although, it’s been a buzzword among Mexican/ American restaurants lately. This is a large hearty stew, sure to cure a hangover, or sop up the alcohol in your system as you partake. Very good, mildly spiced flavor with tender beef. The server said you can eat it like a soup or use the included tortillas to make a wet taco with the meat. I enjoyed this dish but you definitely need to share among two, maybe three people.

We also got the Fajita Mixto with beef, chicken and shrimp. It was a lot of food. The beef was a bit tough but the seasonings were very good. We had a couple of delicious agua frescas to go with that. Next time, we will probably just go with the Birria and some tacos.

This is a bright space, the lighting is too bright kind of like you’d expect at a cantina rather than a restaurant. A little mood lighting might give it a better ambience, because it seemed a bit sterile with the fluorescent lights. The server said they are opening the bigger space next door in May so they can accommodate a band. I’m also guessing it’s a big enough space to clear for a dance floor. It’s huge and I can’t wait for Cinco de Mayo! Also, they are opening until 2AM on Saturdays!

Excellent place!! The music isn’t too loud and they have different screens to watch sports or the news! It’s quiet and the waitresses are very friendly!! I had a very delicious torta ahogada. I recommend it. The chips and salsa are delicious! And they’re not expensive, at reasonable prices! I’ll be back for birria, which is their specialty!

No more cuatro milpas, unfortunately all the cooks have been replaced, therefore the birria/recipes are different. This was our favorite spot for birria but it’s not good and salty now. I used to be able to drink the broth and not get enough of it. On top of that, I used to be able to take some home for the next lunch day. There was barely any meat in my bowl tonight!!!! Long time customer, left heart broken and looking for a new birria joint. The cantarito was hella good though. I hope they keep the agua de coco. I haven’t found something like that anywhere else here in MN.
