Margie’s Canteen Cafe is one of those places you’re glad to walk into. The food is fresh and delicious, and you can tell Martin in the kitchen really knows what he’s doing — everything comes out cooked just right. The portions are generous and the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable.
Matt, the owner, is welcoming and genuinely cares about the place and the people who come in. The staff is friendly, the service is great, and it truly is a hidden gem. It’s a perfect spot for a great cup of coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks. We stopped in with friends while traveling for breakfast and had a wonderful experience. The coffee and brisket burrito were outstanding. I highly recommend stopping in!

Do you remember Bens tacos? If you do, then go to Margie’s for a trip down memory lane bc they have the OG Ben’s tacos. We also had huevos rancheros and breakfast plate. Everything was delicious and the tacos brought back memories!

Stopped in while waiting for my prescription at CVS, this is the 1st time coming in. I loved the decor, very heavy on sugar skulls and Catarina decor which was beautiful, they have a bar with beers on tap and liquor for mixed drinks, but they also had some 2-4 seating tables so it was nice to be able to sit and eat. I went with their Club sandwich and it was so delicious!!! The bacon was exactly how I asked for it crispy to the point I could hear the crunch when I would take a bite and the bread was the perfect way to tie everything together. They had a special today (Wednesday’s) where its sandwich and fries for $10.99 so it was a good deal for the amount of food. So much honestly I needed to ask for a Togo box. The waitress was friendly, welcoming and gave good recommendations so overall she was the cherry on top of the experience. She goes by cricket and was a pleasure to have her take care of me. Will be coming back with my husband for sure to try out their drinks and tacos. Overall, it’s great to see a restaurant with good food, good service and so close to home.

I keep going back for these rolled tacos! I’ve tried the beef with green and red sauce. The green sauce is good, and has a little bit of spice, but my favorite is the red sauce. It’s perfectly savory, not too tomato forward, and not too watery. Paired this with a basket of fries, and a side of queso. So good!!

Found this place on Google and the pictures gave me the confidence to check it out. Honestly the flavor, service, and atmosphere were top notch! It was easy to see the attention to detail in everything they do from the fresh quality food, to the attentive and friendly service, plus the memorable decor, I loved Margie’s Cafe Canteen. This will be a new go-to for sure!

Sooooo good. I found my new “my spot”. My son and I went in for lunch on Sunday. He had the burger (Margie’s burger) and I had the breakfast sandwich with bacon and cheese. It was all very good. The fact that they have coffee is a plus! I’ll be visiting this place at least once a week 😉

This neighborhood restaurant/bar is a must-visit! The food is fantastic, with breakfast served all day—perfect for craving pancakes at dinner. While searching for a new place to try for dinner, came upon this jewel while Google searching. Menu looked good and so took the family to check it out and glad we did. First, they serve breakfast ALL DAY, which means I already loved the place, next the wings were perfect as an appetizer. The kids got pancakes and chicken & waffles, both of which were delicious. Then for adults entrees we got the Margies rolled tacos and the Ben’s tacos that were recommended by the server. Both did not disappoint, my wife loved the rolled tacos and said they were best in the city, as a couple of places serve “chico’s” type rolled tacos. And the Ben’s tacos were like the ones my mom used to make when I was a kid, and I couldn’t be happier. Oh yeah throw in a basket of fries and Bam, best dinner we have had in a while. Kids gave place 5 stars and said they want to go back. The place is small only a couple of big tables, but plenty of bar space. The full bar is nice and there are a couple of TVs. Definitely going back, great find and great service.

Soooo good. We went for breakfast, the chef was our server and was amazing. It wasn’t on the menu, but we asked if he could do up some brisket breakfast burritos. They were amazeballs. The coffee was also well worth the trip. Usually places like this have the same old cheap watery stuff, but not here. They had a good bold coffee brewed strong. We would absolutely go back if we were in town again.
