This was my first time at margauxs….. it will definitely not be my last. Sarah was super sweet and attentive my water was never empty my tummy is full and happy. She did a great job at explaining the menu and giving us recommendations. I got the French onion soup and a half portion chaser to start (I don’t know how big the full is but the half was huge too). The French onion soup is the best I have had in Raleigh. The chaser came with fresh cracked black pepper. The main winner of the night was the duck from their classic portion of the menu. It was to die for with amazing sweet potatoes. Lastly the desert… a must get great with the cappuccino!! I had the white and dark chocolate moose Sarah’s recommended favorite. It is not my favorite. They are celebrating 30 years of business and I can see why!!

So good. Margaux’s is in my top five “places to go for an occasion” in Raleigh. Go on a Monday for the three course pre fixe menu. I recommend choosing the Caesar salad, Salmon, and chocolate mousse, but the other options are also delicious. Also, the best escargot I’ve ever had, and the Won-Chos were delicious. Definitely going back for the crab cakes and the ever changing menu items. If you have William as your waiter, you’re in great hands.

Came here for dinner on a Thursday, the food was great (we got the prix menu, I would recommend the scallops and key lime pie), there were loads of wine options! Knocked some points off because the vibes were just odd – the decor was eclectic (which isn’t a problem in itself, it was fun and cool to look at) but the tables were very close together, which made it feel haphazard and tight. Our waitress was nice and knowledgeable

Really enjoyed the meal and the service and the decor. My starter of Vietnamese Spring Rolls , followed by scallops and vegetables were delicious. My wife ordered the Filet and potato Anna. The steak was at least 8oz, cooked perfectly, but the sad part of the plate was the potato, which looked like it was trying to grow into a Hasselbeck potato, but ended up being undercooked (like the broccoli) and unappetizing. Looking up potato Anna,, it resembles au Gratin, but this was a solid pseudo-baked potato. Work on the details, and we’ll try again.

Excellent restaurant with delicious food and charming service. Cozy atmosphere. The French Onion Soup is the best this side of the Atlantic. The Prix Fixe menu represents the best dining option in Raleigh. Fish, seafood, meat, salad: all are excellently prepared. Desserts are phenomenal. Dine here and be happy.

This is a popular restaurant in Raleigh for many reasons. It’s not in downtown so it is easier to get to since it’s in a shopping center strip mall with plenty of parking. Margaux’s has been a favorite for years and this most recent trip did not disappoint. The staff was wonderful. Our waitress was very attentive while other support staff constantly checked on us to ensure drinks were full, plates cleared and if anything else was needed. The food was delicious while their menu choices offer a huge variety for everyone. I went with a work colleague/friend for dinner. We enjoyed the Tuna and roasted cauliflower appetizers. He had the filet and I had the grouper entrees. We each had dessert and they were as good as they looked. Check out the photos of their wonderful profiterols and dense chocolate brownie. This is consistently on Raleigh’s best of list for dining and you’ll agree after experiencing the delightful dining experience this restaurant offers.

Everything was excellent! Our server was very knowledgeable and told us the history of the restaurant. The food came out quickly and was cooked and played to perfection! We each had the 3 course meal and the first course of buffalo chicken empanadas with chimichurri sauce was delicious! I would have eaten an entire meal of those if they were available! The tres leche cake was just the right amount of sweet. Our dinner was fantastic and we will definitely be back!

Came here for a nice dinner date and was impressed. The decor is interesting and there are definitely a lot of families but the atmosphere isn’t bad. Our server was super friendly and awesome and I was impressed by the food. We got the duck tagine, the mahi mahi, and the calamari. Everything tasted great, I liked seeing the North African influence in the duck dish but I wouldn’t go as far as calling it tagine. The corn bread and cumin bread they brought to the table were really really good. Also I tried the elderflower martini and it was very refreshing. I would consider coming back for a special occasion.

This place is wonderful. The menu is fun and they have many options. The Ostrich is a must try! It’s almost like duck and steak at the same time. The steak is also perfectly cooked. We also ordered the snails, I’d honestly prefer if they weren’t in the shell, it just made them more difficult to eat. But they were excellent, other than the presentation of them. The mousse is also delicious and a must get. Our server was very knowledgeable and the perfect amount of attentive.
