I was really disappointed with my experience. My first wrap literally had a rubber band inside it, which is unacceptable. I called and asked for a replacement, and it took over 30 minutes for the second wrap to arrive. Unfortunately, that one was just as bad in a different way, it was completely drenched in sauce, so soggy that it was inedible.

Between the food safety issue, the long wait, and receiving another wrap I couldn’t even eat, this was a total letdown. I won’t be returning.

Response to the owner:

I’m confused by your response. Finding a rubber band inside food is not “something little” it’s a serious food safety issue. Suggesting that I remove it and still eat the sandwich is concerning.

Yes, I called and a replacement was offered. That replacement took over 30 minutes to arrive and was so drenched in sauce that it was soggy and completely inedible. At that point, the issue was not fixed.

Reviews are meant to reflect real customer experiences, not only the ones businesses prefer to highlight. My review and photo were honest and accurate. Being disappointed in feedback does not make the feedback unfair or “dirty.”

I would have appreciated accountability and professionalism instead of blame. Unfortunately, this response only reinforces my experience.

I have had food scares before. I like all my food cooked well done. EVERYTIME I request for it, this place nails it!
From the wings, to the pizza, to the fries, and cheesesteaks. It’s delicious! Even when we had an issue, due to the delivery driver, not the restaurants fault. One phone call and they corrected the order and delivered it right away. This evening I got the Lg. pizza and wing special and chef’s kiss absolute perfection

I am so happy that I found this amazing place! My family and I will definitely return here. Their food is so authentic, unique and delicious!!!! I was first greeted by Manuel, who was so kind, warm and informative about all the delicious delicacies that this place offers. We got the Corleone Margarita and cannolis for dessert.
Look at this Beauty! Marcello’s is a must try. It will be my new go-to place for sure

I’ve had a few different types of pizza from Marcello’s (Coreleones). They are hit and miss. Taormina is described as having cherry tomatoes, but there were no cherry tomatoes on the pizza, the 2 times I ordered it, just regular tomatoes. The Coreleone pizza with prosciutto is pretty good, but taste way better if you rebake it. But one particular pizza is why I will not be going there again. The Etna Coreleone style Buffalo Chicken Pizza is horrible. I order this pizza tonight 1/4/2026 at 6pm. I told the guy on the phone “No Blue Cheese”, he said OK. Guess, what’s in the sauce? Blue cheese and not just a little bit, more like 90% of the sauce is blue cheese. Its absolutely disgusting, every bite is a mouth full of over powering blue cheese flavor. I had to put my own hot sauce on it, to make it taste close to a buffalo chicken pizza. Me and my wife love buffalo chicken pizza and Marcello’s Etna Coreleone Style Buffalo Chicken Pizza is an abomination to buffalo chicken pizza every where. Good thing there not the only pizza place in the area. If your looking for a good buffalo chicken pizza go a few extra blocks to Village pizza on Red Lion Road, Angelos Pizza on Rennard, or Station Pizza at Bustleton and Philmont. And if your wondering did that one pizza suck so bad that this reviewer is really telling people to stay away from this place. Yeah, it really did.
(Response to Owner). I get your upset. Your just a bunch of Mexicans trying to make Italian food and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s nothing wrong with trying make cuisines out of your comfort zone, being multicultural, trying something new and making a business out of it. The Cairi Coreleone is a good pizza, but the meatballs on it suck, the Trapani Coreleone is good a pizza but the ham and salami combo throws the taste off, either pick one or try a new combination. The Messina is a great pizza, after you rebake in the air fryer for 6 to 7 mins on 350. But to say that monstrosity of a buffalo chicken pizza (the Etna) is the best is a delusion. There’s not a single Italian that would be proud of that disgusting blue cheese sauce. There isn’t any spice, or heat, you think the tang is coming from miniscule amount of buffalo sauce trying to fight through the Bleu cheese, but it’s not, the whole pizza is just melted cheese on top of blue cheese. The chicken looks sad and boiled or grilled for 2 second then steamed. The crust is good though, maybe that’s what you should do, make crust for other pizza places.

Marcello is a proud first-generation Sicilian Italian, directly from Sicily, and he serves up the finest Italian dishes in northeast Philadelphia. His warm and friendly demeanor makes everyone feel at home, and he runs a successful, clean, and sanitary restaurant. The quality of his establishment shines through with excellent service and a consistently delightful dining experience. I have a deep appreciation for Marcello’s homemade recipes, all made from scratch with genuine Sicilian-Italian flavors and dishes It truly doesn’t get any better than this! Marcelo, you’re simply amazing!!

If you don’t want to read a long review. Just order a Corleone Style Pizza. Period. You won’t regret it!
Long review to follow:
I was away from home and decided to order from this place based solely on their 4.7-Star rating.
Marcello’s appears to be a family owned pizza joint. Take-out only. You can just tell they’ve been around a while and I’m guessing they do a lot business. It just has the looks of a place that can really get crankin!
The place was clean (not sparkly) and smelled of pizza!
I ordered from the Corleone Style Pizza menu.
And I can say that I’m so glad I did! The best way I can describe the Corleone style is Sicilian style, but the crust is not thick like most places. It is what I would call a medium thickness. It’s a rectangular crust with cheese melted all the way past the edges. So, no crust. Which I particularly love!!. And the cheese was nice and browned and crispy!
First, the Carini (think Meat lovers): Big chunks of sliced meatballs, sausage, pepperoni, and garlic! Great sauce. Not sweet. Not too acidic. Absolutely amazing!
Second, the Buffalo Chicken pizza: Lots of grilled chicken, cheese, and a creamy buffalo sauce. I would say mild to medium heat level of sauce.
The crispy cheesey edges and airy crust just takes this pizza over the top!
Highly recommend Marcello’s.
The guys behind the counter were very friendly and nice.
I started to give just 4-stars for atmosphere because the place could use some freshening up, but I changed it to 5-stars because the guys behind the counter were so friendly and conversational. That level of service is often lacking these days.
Not sure when I’ll make it back to Marcello’s as it was about 30 minutes from home… But I would make that drive just for this pizza!
Thanks guys!
