Food outstanding, waiter outstanding (really outstanding), atmosphere in the private room of a ten table restaurant the best. The chef and owner, well he is a guy named Marcello with a passion for what he is doing. The shortrib I had was cooked to perfection – it must have been cooked for a long time. Everything was great and frankly the prices are quite reasonable given the quality of this restaurant.

Great service and food. They have a large selection of wine. The veal chop was excellent and very big. The table side caesar is also a must try. Marcello ristorante is definitely with a visit. Top notch quality.

It was great but not to the hype that is built around it. The atmosphere is truly exeptional for the area, its like you’re in a true Itallian restaurant for a high class diner. Corking fee is not allowed which is a shame, but they do carry phenominal wines. The pasta doshes were just above par. The antipasti was great, as they cure their own meats ie. duck and pork etc. The wagyu for 110$ which was promised as 16oz (and later clarrified bt the chef as 10oz) was more like 2-3oz which was a major dissapointment, served on top of seasoned polenta. It was delicios but dissapointing at the same time. The wagyu was also cooked mid well which was not ideal. After splitting the check 3 ways with 2 bottles of wine (for 5 people)I still spent 250. Dont get the wagyu, get the fried pork cutlet, it was great for the price. The truffle pasta paired well with the pork, but by itself was underwhelming. Sea bass was phenominal as well.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Milan and that’s what Marcello’s reminds me of: the dishes are great across all categories, one of those small limited menu places that I love because the chef doesn’t bother making it unless it’s fresh and absolutely top-notch. But to those of you who are used to elegant, fawning service and lots of choice in an expensive restaurant (and Marcello’s is indeed expensive), you won’t be getting it. You’ll be getting busy waiters in a tiny space with lots of noise and excellent food. Doesn’t bother me, but there is a point at which we lazy Americans might like a bit more calm and a bit more service for our $300 bill. Just sayin’… 🙂

I have really liked this place and had a wonderful experience both other times we went, however this time, We especially selected it for an anniversary dinner. They seem to lose our reservation, Although luckily I had a text confirming it from two days earlier. Nevertheless they didn’t apologize, Just remarked that they had an extra table. Our waiter was aloof and read the menu so fast it was hard to follow. The chef /owner did not smile or wave after having been consulted about this mistake with reservationsthat can only be made by phone. We had the Tableside Caesar salad, Which was delicious as always. My boyfriend had the special pork chop, which was very good, but I ordered the whole hog snapper Which was so disappointingly overfried and dried out and the sauce was way too lemony (and I love lemon on fish). More than anything, it’s the impersonal treatment that really turned me off in such a small, intimate place.

We ate here tonight. If I could give negative stars I would. I do have to give credit where credit is due. The food was quite good. The servers have the worst attitude you can imagine. How dare you look down your snotty nose at us when we are all far more highly educated than you are. They have no cocktails. They frankly don’t have any clue about good cocktails. It’s a quite sad. They didn’t even know what a Carajillo is. How can you serve tiramisu without that or at the very least a good espresso martini. The wine was drastically over priced as was the food. Italian food is not expensive to produce. Coming from the most ethnically diverse city in the United States, my expectations are high and this place did not meet them. My only advice is that you avoid this place and let them go out of business as they deserve. Who knows, maybe they will clean up their act and improve. I wish them the best but we will not be back.

I can not fault the food. The food was fabulous. The staff were not. They were rude when we asked to repeat what one of the entrees were on the blackboard. They would not split the bill, which I find unusual for Florida. That is okay but he was rude when we asked. One person ordered a bottle of wine for herself and was going to take it home and he started pouring it for other people at our table. Very pushy on the bottles of wine. We asked the size of the antipasto and with a face was told it was a plate. We will not be coming back to be treated this way. It is a shame because the food was very good.
