I was walking the Venice Boardwalk on Super Bowl Sunday and didn’t even realize Marathon Burger had opened a location there. It’s been on my list for a while, so I knew I had to stop and try it. I definitely wanted to support Nip and Sam and a Black-owned business as well.
I ordered the Marathon Burger combo and it did not disappoint — super flavorful and cooked perfectly. The sauce that came with the fries? So good. Everything was fresh and delicious.
There was about a 40-minute wait after ordering, but it was a beautiful day on the boardwalk, so I honestly didn’t mind. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend stopping by and giving it a try.

I recently took my three boys to Marathon Burger, and it was a hit from the first bite. We’ve tried burgers all over LA, and this place truly stands out. The wagyu smash burgers are juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly — simple, fresh, and done right.
We’ve visited both locations, and each has its own vibe. The Melrose location is great for a classic LA food stop, while the Venice Beach location is unbeatable — eating amazing burgers right by the beach is an experience of its own. Even better, the Venice spot is open until 3am daily, which makes it perfect for an after hours stop.
The staff was friendly and patient with kids, the food came out fast, and my boys are already asking when we’re going back. If you’re looking for one of the best burgers in LA, whether you’re with family or just grabbing food late at night, Marathon Burger is a mandatory.

I came with my mom my son and step dad and we loved it! We got the marathon combo and we doubled up of course! And we also got the OG combo and doubled up on that too! I added some bbq wings and some spicy wings and onion rings. Everything was on point! The staff was friendly and the wagyu burgers are some of the best the city has to offer! I love Nip and the Marathon brand! This is my new favorite restaurant!

I went late night around midnight. Service was a little slow but understandable at that hour. Greeted with a smile. Vegan burger was bomb! Best Onion rings I’ve had and I live in DC where we have great food options. The sauce amazing. The vegan pattie tasted homemade and hand a softer texture. Next time I think I’ll ask for the vegan spread separately. It did take a while to get my order, I’m not sure if it’s because it’s cooked separately, which I love because I’m vegetarian but other people who ordered burgers after me got their food before me. I chose onion rings because the fries weren’t my style of fries, very skinny shoe string fries. If you do the combo you can ask for onion rings instead. I’d definitely come back. I spent $21 for the vegan burger combo with the blue lemonade and onion rings (huge portion).

Now, full transparency, the seating is limited, and the wait time can be a bit on the longer side, especially during peak hours. But once the food hits your table, it’s clear it was worth every second.
Whether you’re a local or just visiting the beach, Marathon Burger is a must-try. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town.

We had the pleasure of dining at Marathon Burger Venice Beach for the very first time, and it did not disappoint. The OG Burger was a solid 10/10 — from the quality of the meat, down to the pickles, onions, and sauces, everything came together perfectly. The fries were seasoned just right, and that house sauce? Straight .
I tried the blueberry lemonade — it was a little too sweet for me at first, but after watering it down a bit, it was so refreshing and still delicious. For $20, the OG Burger meal (burger, fries, and drink of your choice) felt totally worth it.
Also want to shout out the cashier who helped me on September 9th around 6 PM — the customer service was lovely, welcoming, and added to the whole vibe of the place.

If you want to wait 40 min for a regular order and experience the worst possible customer service while you are waiting for your food and at the end never get your order at all, then this is the place to go.
I would avoid this joint like the plague, in the span of 40 min, I saw people ordering and getting their orders on time, wwent to check for our order 20min after it was placed and was assured it will be ready in few minutes, 20 more minutes later I was lied that they lost pur ticket and our food is not ready and was met with the worst possible response, had to ask for refund for an order that never arrived. we ordered 2 simple burgers for $60.
We ended up leaving as they already tried to pin the mistake on us

It was well worth the wait! We traveled from Las Vegas and had to come to support Marathon Burger and Nipsey Hussle’s family legacy. The mushroom veggie burger was so delicious! Quite possibly the BEST veggie burger I’ve ever eaten. The fries were well seasoned,and had the right amount of crispy and crunchy. They also pair perfectly with their signature sauce. The sauce was really good and compliments both the burger and the fries.

The hot wings are soooo good , I got mild. My fav location is the one on Melrose , however the staff has been nice in all of them so far . Just Melrose has seating and better atmosphere. Can’t wait to try the new location in Long Beach soon . I love that these are being built in different locations now.
