This was 10/10 experience. The entire place is a vibe! Beautiful rooftop atmosphere . We had the most amazing server, Adi. She was so knowledgeable and really listed to what we were wanting and helped us pick the perfect dishes. She went above and beyond and even brought out a special birthday dessert! And the food she helped pick….. absolutely fantastic! Great flavors and each dish was perfectly balanced. My compliments to the chef and to Aldi for being such an amazing server!!

Mar y Rosa – Rooftop Dining with a View
Mar y Rosa offers the kind of rooftop experience that instantly feels special. From the moment you step upstairs, you’re greeted with sweeping views, a stylish open-air setting, and a lively atmosphere that makes it perfect for sunset dinners or celebratory nights out.
The menu leans toward elevated Latin and Caribbean flavors with a modern twist. The dishes are beautifully presented, with fresh ingredients and creative combinations that feel thoughtful rather than overdone. Seafood options tend to shine, offering bright, balanced flavors, while small plates make it easy to share and try a bit of everything. Pair your meal with one of their handcrafted cocktails — they complement the rooftop vibe perfectly.
Service is generally attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. While prices reflect the upscale setting, the ambiance and presentation help justify it.
Overall, Mar y Rosa is as much about the atmosphere as it is about the food. Great views, vibrant energy, and well-executed dishes make it a memorable rooftop spot worth visiting. ️

I had a pleasant experience at Mar y Rosa. I chose to visit because I noticed they serve oysters, which I truly enjoyed. They were fresh and served ready to eat from the shell, something I greatly appreciated. Carlos attended to me throughout my visit, and he was excellent—very professional and also friendly. When there was a mix-up with my taco order, he handled it well and quickly provided me with a new plate. The cocktails were excellently prepared, and the rooftop views of the pier and the neighboring castle were beautiful.
I will definitely come back
Be aware is mo too easy to find the place and the sign they have downstairs is super small. I’ll leave the picture of the door attached.

An amazing experience! Adi was a wonderful server…she very knowledgeable about the menu, extremely attentive, and knew the history of the building when we asked. The atmosphere was upscale yet casual. Very beautiful decor and amazing sunsets. Highly recommend!

Great brunch! The flight of taquitos was amazing, along with the avocado toast and the cheese appetizer. We had a couple of refreshing spritzes while we relaxed on the rooftop. Beautiful location and great to stop in for a break while exploring old San Juan

Hamachi Tacos, Borrata, NY all was great, we tried all the entire menu, a group of 10 and the service was great, it was during the San Juan street “SanSebastian” festival so I had little expectations of good service, but it was great, Michelle served us awesome, we never had to call her…. we had the Hamachi ceviche fresh, flavorful!! This most impressive is the view of the San Juan Bay as this is in the rooftop…. must visit spot in Old San Juan, 5 stars !!

Everything is incredible. I live in PR. Asked a friend if it was good. Was offput by the 3.9 star. And I’m not sure who was eating here. But it has been an 11/10 for me and my girlfriend. Food 10/10. Not a huge wine snob, so normal. I’m not a judge on wine but gf loved it. And the food was incredible. Ambiance was 12/10. Try to plan around sunset. Oysters were incredible. Not over priced. I don’t leave reviews often, but WOW.

This rooftop has a spectacular view. We ordered a few appetizers that were really good. Great service.

As longtime residents of Old San Juan, we were eager to experience this new addition. The space is stunning, with a lively rooftop atmosphere that feels straight out of Miami. This spot shines in ambiance, but leaves the food a little underseasoned. Cocktails were well-presented, yet watered-down. Highlights included tender steak and creative touches like the crab donuts, though both would benefit from more seasoning. While the menu shows promise, bolder flavors would take it to the next level. Worth a visit for the atmosphere—and worth watching as the kitchen grows into its potential.

This was our only negative dining experience in Puerto Rico, and, being as expensive as it was, we had reserved this for a special occasion: my wife’s birthday.
Besides the service being incredible slow (which… fine, I’ve never felt compelled to write a negative review over slow service) the atmosphere while we waited 45 minutes for our appetizers and another 20 minutes for the the check, was cold and somewhat unwelcoming.
Most-frustrating of all, they forgot the birthday surprise for my wife — a candle in a dessert — despite calling the day before and confirming with the hostess while at the restaurant.
There are plenty of incredible restaurants in San Juan, I unfortunately can’t recommend this one.
