First time here. I love Italian food. It was highly recommended by a local. I pulled up 8 minutes before they opened. Other cars pulled up shortly after. It was during a winter storm. I knew that the food would be exceptional if locals were coming out in the midst of a ensuing snow storm. The Crab Soup, the Lasagna Bolognese, and the Tiramasu were the best that I have had in Virginia (Italian food is my favorite). Their spin on the Red Sangria was unexpected but appreciated. Carson was an amazing waiter. There was another server that was just attentive and helpful. I will be a repeat customer many times over as I am here locally for business often.

From the outside you wouldn’t expect how great this place is, maybe thats a bad thing but maybe in reality thats what makes it a great thing. From the start bread was plenty and fresh with some oil and balsamic always a perfect pair. Followed by the Best she crab soup Ive ever tasted hands down, the fettuccine con pollo Alfredo was a true Alfredo classic rich in flavor my date loved, I decided on the vitello and portabella stack. I was craving fried eggplant but wanted some meat with my dinner. Fried veal, fried eggplant and fried portobello layered in a basil red sauce topped with melted mozzarella. Id have to say there are so many times I’ve had a subpar marinara sauce with my pasta or Italian that you pass on it in the future until you eat at a good Italian spot like this place and it reminds your tastebuds again why marinara sauce is what you are really craving when its that delicious. I had a real John Hamm dancing moment there the second I took the first bite, if you can picture that. Very happy to have experienced this place and my date aswell was the perfect place to go too.

New year”s eve, reservations for 4 @ 7. Waited 20-30 for table at bar. Not a place to be in a rush. The bartender was busy and attentive, as Diane our waitress. My only real complaint is that it is not an appropriate place to lick the plates. Spent several special occasions here. Never disappoints. The she crab is award winning for reason. You can’t go wrong. We’ve also gotten trays of Marsala and ziti to go. Feeds a bunch of people for cheap and quality food.

Absolutely delicious. Book early as they fill up. My friends and I had a wonderful dinner last week. The oyster app and crab soup was dreamy. I want more more more! Service was great too! Will definitely be back. ❤️

This place was recommended by a colleague and was nothing short of spectacular from start to finish. We were promptly seated upon arrival for our reserved time slot. The She Crab Soup was the best that I’ve ever and and I now see why they call it award winning. The Crab-tini was a favorite of my wife while I loved the fried oysters. Chicken Parmesan and Lasagna rounded out the meal for us. This place is a must try. We’ll definitely be back. Shout out to over server Nick who was on point all night.

We had a reservation for two and the hostess had no idea where to seat us, even though we made reservations a week in advance. Our server was Rachel and she was not personable and barely checked on us or the food. I recommend requesting a different server if you have the choice. She seemed overwhelmed and stressed. To start we ordered the prosciutto and mozzarella which was excellent to start with. But both the French onions and she crab soup were cold by the time they got to our table. We were disappointed, we wanted to tell Rachel but she was no where to be found. We both got shrimp entrées, the scampi francis lacked flavor. Our server checked on us when we were almost completely done with the entrees. What was really shocking was when I ordered an express martini the bartender had it premade!!! We sat at the half booth/ table next to the bar and my husband and I both heard our server and the bartender say “well at least we sold that and don’t waste”. So I assume they are not making the espresso martinis to order anymore. Additionally, they have cut the portion of tiramisu significantly but the price is the same. Overall very disappointing, this place is not how I remember it. I recommend spending your money elsewhere. Side note: my husband and I did notice that the other servers offered cheese, fresh crushed pepper and checked on their tables often.

Absolutely delicious food and good quality cocktails. We had fantastic service from the bartender James. The food is very well crafted and authentic. The tortellini mannino was very flavorful and filling, the crab soup was some of the best I’ve ever tasted. I also loved the cozy and intimate setting. Make sure to get a reservation so that you can be seated immediately.

Very delicious food and service is always great. They have delicious bread and dipping sauce to start off with. Both times I have went I got the salad and the famous she crab soup. I tried the Caesar and not sure what the other salad was called but had walnuts, apple, and blue cheese type. Everyone’s food was also delicious! Highly recommend! Mondays is there wine night and they do half off bottles. Pricing is decent as well for what you get.

We arrived 7 minutes early for our reservation and were seated pretty quickly.
Our server (lydia) arrived at our table. She asked if we would like some drinks.
I asked for a smoked old fashioned. Lydia said they didn’t have smoked but they had a peach bourbon old fashioned.
I thought that sounded good, so I ordered it.
The drink was very strong, it tasted like cheap alcohol was used and not like an old fashioned at all.
I did not drink it.
We ordered our meals.
My wife ordered the lasagna and she-crab soup(cup).
I ordered the Veal Saltalboca with the penne pomodoro and a side meatball.
After 10 minutes they brought over some bread (3 pieces) and poured some olive oil and balsamic viniger on a plate.
After another 10 minutes they brought out my wife’s she-crab soup.
We waited over 40 minutes for our entrees to arrive.
Our server came by once at about the 20 minute mark to say the food should be coming out soon.
She did not return again until it was time to bring the food.
When the food arrived it was hot.
My wife said she liked the lasagna.
I tasted it, I did not like it.
The Veal Saltalboca was mediocre.
The meatball was good.
The Penne pomodoro was OK.
The lasagna was not good.
In all the time we were there, we were never offered more bread ( I know I could have asked, but I shouldn’t have to).
Bottom line:
1. The service was not attentive.
2. The food delivery was way too long (the place was not full).
3. The drinks were bad (on a plus they removed it from the bill).
4. The food was not worth the wait or the price.
I would not visit this restaurant again.
