After we were finally seated, the waitress brought us glasses and ice for our wine, but then disappeared for about 15 minutes. A server assistant brought out bread, but there was no butter or olive oil, surprising for an Italian restaurant, especially with no seasoned olive oil for dipping.
I eventually had to stop Luiz and explain the situation. He took over as our server and was excellent from that point on.
As for the food, the shrimp and broccoli rabe appetizer was underwhelming, had only three medium shrimp with a small portion of broccoli rabe for $21, and it lacked flavor. I had to cut the shrimp in half so we each get a bite. The scallop appetizer was slightly better but was served more like a soup and priced at $20. Salad was also not enjoyable.
The veal parmesan entrées were good, but the linguine and clams was not enjoyed. At this price point, the lack of attention to detail and inconsistent execution made the experience unenjoyable until the main course.
Overall, we cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be dining here again. We eat out often, and there are many better Italian restaurants that offer stronger value and better food.
We started with a few appetizers and they were all fantastic. The pumpkin gnocchi was soft and flavorful, the shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the bruschetta was fresh and simple in the best possible way — exactly how classic Italian appetizers should be.
For dinner I had the Tortellini Della Nonna, which was absolutely incredible. The pasta tasted homemade and the sauce had that rich, comforting flavor that only comes from traditional Italian cooking. My wife ordered the Rigatoni – Rapini & Salsiccia, with broccoli rabe, sausage, cannellini beans, shaved parmesan, and garlic in a white wine sauce. It was packed with flavor and perfectly balanced.
What really stood out was the authenticity. The homemade taste immediately brought me back to meals I’ve had in Italy — simple ingredients, prepared with care, and full of flavor.
Between the incredible food and the dimly lit atmosphere, Mannino’s delivers an experience that feels authentic and special. It’s one of those places where you leave already thinking about when you’ll come back
* A few photos for ideas if you are planning a party
I ordered; fried calamari and clams in a delicious garlic sauce…omgoodness, it was delicious! The calamari came with lightly fried zucchini and a spicy dipping sauce.
Service was top tier!! I can’t wait to return to taste other menu items.
We were a party of 5. Between us, we had the crab “bisque”, filet mignon egg rolls, chicken parm, pescatore Rosa, crab cakes, and banana pudding. Crab “bisque”- not a bisque at all. It’s vegetable soup with crab meat. Awful. 0 stars. Bisque is thick and creamy… this was a broth. Filet mignon egg rolls- taste like regular cheesesteak egg rolls with cheese wiz. Not worth $19. Chicken parm- stellar. Thin cutlets, tasty sauce. Only thing is we had to ask for more sauce because the pasta under the cutlet had no sauce. Pescatore Rosa- stellar again. Very tasty sauce, fresh seafood, just very $$ at almost $50. Crab cakes- not good. Lots of crab but they lacked flavor. Bland. Banana pudding- out of this world! Thick and creamy with fresh fruit. Honestly it was enough for the 5 of us to share. Bill came to $300 and that was with 2 soups subtracted.
Overall, very expensive and overpriced as other reviewers have stated. Our server was very nice and very good so no complaints there whatsoever. Honestly, probably won’t be back.
