Came in Sunday morning at 1030 and no wait for a table. The service was good. The food was good but nothing special. Drinks were good but way too much ice in the ol fashioned watered down the booze. Manitou breakfast was fine great bacon. Breakfast burrito was good

First time visiting Manitou Bar. It was Sunday morning, they were serving brunch, so we decided to get a cocktail from their brunch menu. Ordered the Ultimate Bloody Mary. Wow! Fabulous inside and out. Delicious, fun, filling, and on point. The atmosphere was very nice. The window seats are great, and if it’s warm enough, they have a beautiful outside patio.
The only thing that wasn’t up to par was the service. There were 2 guests. When our drinks arrived, they only brought 1. The server thought only one was ordered…hmmm..
So they made his drink, but it wasn’t presented in the way it should have. Fail. The server was very unenthusiastic, was too busy with another table to check on us and had another server take our bill. Let me say…the restaurant was not busy at all. We were the first ones there that morning. The hosts staff was very friendly and inviting, so kudos to them! The bartender was great as well! But the server???? He failed when it came to us. I’ll go again- hoping next time to get a different server.

Although I’ve been here a few times I finally stopped in for a first time in a couple years. The service was very quick and our server was very nice. They have pretty good happy hour deals as well as a burger promotion on Mondays, 25% off. I got the smash burger and others got the peanut Thai burger which was excellent. I would definitely get the peanut Thai burger next time as it had almost the same profile as a bahn mi. The smash burger on the other hand was a bit plain and unexciting in comparison. Overall a decent spot for white bear lake and could see myself returning next time I’m in the area.

I did it. A quick check left, then right. Then, I licked the plate.
Are you kidding me? Fantastic. Juicy. Delicious. So good, it is just crazy! I have a new dish idea: The Steak Bites (with their savory, jaw-dropping sauce) served on a mountain of grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes. We can call it the “Are you Kidding Me?” Because, are you? So good. There are some skills in that kitchen!

Appetizer: Steak Bites
Main Course: Meatloaf
Soup: Tomato Basil

The restaurant is quite dark and beautiful inside. The bar really stands out and the dining area was very spacious. There were a ton of people waiting to be seated at a table so my friend and I sat at the bar. I love bar seating because I feel like the service is so much more attentive. Plus, you can kind of watch the gears of the place wind up. The bartender was so, so busy last night. She was tending to the bar guests, some of the bar tables, and making drinks for the tables in the dining room. It took her quite awhile to get to us but we weren’t in any rush. That girl seriously hustled! And, I honestly think that they’re lucky to have someone that works so hard yet also takes the time to make sure everyone has everything they need.

The food came out decently quick but it was kind of disappointing, to be honest. My friend got the almond-crusted walleye which was decent but the remoulade was really just too thick and fatty. It tasted like straight mayo instead of having any tang from the capers. It basically did not elevate the dish but kind of ruined it. So, we discarded it. I got two appetizers. The brussel sprouts were pretty boring. Though, I like the way they were cooked. They were crispy and blackened on the outside and soft on the inside. It’s just that the lardons, aioli, and queso made it taste like fat on fat on fat. I asked the bartender for some lemon wedges to add a zing of flavor. I honestly think that a balsamic drizzle would do the dish some good. The steak bites were pretty mediocre. The bordeaux sauce was meh, and I didn’t taste the horseradish at all. I was really looking to the bite from the horseradish. The roasted tomatoes were good but should have been cut smaller and spread throughout the dish for the perfect bite. This was also another missed opportunity on flavor. The steak was cooked perfectly, though. I will give them that. The portions are also pretty hefty and the prices were decent.

I’m a contract worker in the area with limited time to try all of the local restaurants. Would I come back? Maybe. But, I’d definitely order something else.

Six of us enjoyed a special moms dinner here, first time coming for everyone. A manager called the morning of our reservation to let us know that parking maybe be challenging due to Marketfest, in case we were unaware of that event – which I thought went above and beyond, much appreciated!

We had the Big Pig pork sandwich with fries, Tempura Shrimp Tacos, Steak Bites appetizer, a Grain Bowl with added Blackened Tuna, the Manitou Mac with added Grilled Chicken, and the Chicken Chimichanga special – nothing but good things to say about the food.

We each also had dessert – New York Vanilla Cheesecake, Bread Pudding, and a Cookie Skillet. I have to say that most of us ordered the wrong one and would have preferred trading with another mom. That’s probably just the nature of women and desserts. Next time we go out I’ll suggest ordering a variety for the table and then just sharing them all. Lol

The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice, I’ll definitely be back!

We love this place, good Happy Hour. We met relatives on a Monday 5pm and ended up playing Trivia (7pm) with about 20 other guests. My wife and I split a burger and fries. Parking lot and street (out front) good for free parking.

The food was amazing. The fish and chips was fresh and cooked perfectly, they even had malt vinegar for the fries. The desert was the star though. I had the lemon blueberry crema brulee, and it was fantastic.
