Mangosteen is a true Bristol institution The vibes at their Cotham Hill branch are truly are immaculate Super cosy and intimate – it’s genuinely the perfect date spot! The staff were amazing – v friendly and attentive without by OTT❤️
They serve up Thai tapas, small plate style (although be warned, there’s really nothing small about those plates). The menu is packed with loads of exciting and unique dishes but here’s what we went for:
* Beef Massaman Curry
* Veggie Spring Rolls
* Crispy Honey Chilli Beef
* Crispy Chilli Squid
* Sweet & Sour Aubergine
* Jasmine Rice
The stand out dish was the massaman curry! The beef was genuinely melt in the mouth tender I also couldn’t get enough of the honey dip that came with the spring rolls – think I practically devoured the whole lot.
Also love love LOVED the Sabai Sabai cocktail (a rum-based Thai welcome drink) – stunning, could have drunk them all night!

Loved it! Prices are VERY reasonable. Food was great, love the idea of the small plates, staff were really friendly, atmosphere was nice.
Only things I’d improve on –
1 – bigger tables (it was a squeeze)
2 – love the small plate idea, I think you guys have mastered it, so I think you can slowly bring in more “main menu dishes”
Overall great experience, I will be back.

We came here for the lunch deal and will definitely be back! The level of service and quality of food/drinks absolutely exceeded our expectations. The team are so friendly and welcoming and every dish was fresh, beautifully presented and full of flavour. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for both a relaxed lunch and an evening meal. A real gem in Bristol, highly recommend!

Staff and beyond amazing – friendly, attentive and welcoming.
Food is top tier every time. Fresh, fragrant and super quick.
Atmosphere is warm and lively. We always come with my daughter and they always accommodate with space for the pushchair or a high chair.
I’ve been to the North Street location which is also lovely and they’re opening a 3rd on Gloucester Road, but Cotham Hill will remain our spot!

The most wonderful experience! Not only was the food amazing but the service was incredible too! Sweta was so lovely and made sure that our experience was as good as possible! We came for the £30 lunch deal for two and the food was delicious and filling. Can’t wait to come back and try out their fantastic selection of cocktails! Also the music was soooo good – from MF Doom to the Beatles! What a gem of a restaurant!

The food here was fantastic – every dish was flavourful and fresh. Great balance of flavours across the small plates. The service was fantastic with friendly attentive staff. The restaurant itself is quite small which means it can be quite loud.

Having not heard of mangosteen before, I was intrigued once seeing reels on social media which looked immense. Seeing the food in person did not disappoint!
We were served promptly and politely, with plenty of information about the dishes being available on request. I ordered the green curry, spring rolls and satay chicken, all of which came out within less than 15 minutes.
The curry was fragrant, fresh and rather punchy! The portion was more than enough for one, especially combined with the two sides (both of which were excellent).
Would highly recommend visiting again!
