These guys get a five star review for me because they take precautions. I ordered a pizza and then some pepperoni rolls with sauce. They wrapped their sauce in plastic wrap.
On the way home, the whole bag fell onto the floor of my brand new truck. I initially was very upset until I walked around and saw that the cups of sauce were wrapped in plastic wrap and completely safe.
Thank you for saving my vehicle

Best variety of pizza in Lawrence and Mercer County. 3rd best chicken pastina I have ever had. Mom’s is the best, of course, and then Grandma from Mr. Pizza, but she only makes hers on Fridays. Highly recommend!

The food is good. There is no doubt about that and the restaurant is clean. However, 4 slices of pizza, a pepperoni roll and a drink cost me $26. That is INSANE. Also, the woman who was asked to come wait on me due to the restaurant being busy had a rather unpleasant demeanor while I was being served, as if asking questions about the food and ordering food that I did not choose to have heated, was above her pay grade, she sighed and spoke to me in a disrespectful tone as if I was a bother.

There’s nothing like the local Italian mainstay that a town is so grateful to have. I never heard of a “Dugout” before (I’m from outta town), but it beats a regular meatball sandwich to a tomatoey pulp. It was fabulous. Many choices of items here. Great service. Quality food. Consistency. I recommend this place.

Visit at least once a month. Pizza is fantastic. The lasagna and meatballs are the best dish there. Well worth the trip for a great dinner.

Update: My original review was posted 11/2021 and this update is 10/2022. Mangino’s is an hour from my house and I’ve made the drive 4 times this year, simply for the meatball stuffed loaf and french fries! I’ll stop at a few of the waterfalls in the area to make it a day, but I’m making the trip for the loaf. I’ve purchased extras to bring home to my family and they were enjoyed as much as my fresh one.
Excellent dining option for singles, couples and families. There are tables that can seat at least 8 and tables for as little as two. The staff is friendly. The menu is homestyle Italian and everything sounds appealing.
I stopped in for the Meatball Stuffed Loaf and it did not disappoint! 4 massive meatballs, stuffed into a crusty loaf of freshly baked bread. The bread is soft on the inside, but not so much that all the delicious red sauce and rich melty cheese make it soggy. The sauce is somewhat sweet, but not that kind of sweet that lingers and makes you not appreciate the flavors of the tomatoes and seasonings.
I really don’t even like meatball subs, but something about these lured me in… I’m glad, because they’re incredible and you should definitely stop in and have one!

One of my top lunch spots. Usually the line moves quick. I usually just get slices warmed up but last week I got the Stromboli combo meal and gave it 5 stars!

The food is definitely above average. However, they really need to figure out a better ordering system for groups of people. Specifically at busy times. If you order something from the front (slice of pizza, soup, etc) they get that started and give it to you soon after paying. Those who order sandwiches or something required to prepare in the kitchen need to wait and watch the rest of the people in the party eat. They really need to decide if they are fast food or prepare a hot meal for the entire group. The hybrid ruins the experience.
