The atmosphere was very nice and the service was great. The food was mediocre. The salad and salad dressing was great. The bread was a little stale. I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller entrée. The oysters were overcooked. Otherwise, it was good. My husband ordered the Veal Parmesan. The veal was also overcooked.
The prices were inflated. I mean, $23.00 for a bowl of pasta with four little overcooked oysters is too much.
The only thing you get with that entrée is the bread.
Therefore, we won’t go back. It’s just too pricey.

Great experience at Mangiamo’s! I have tried a few things on their menu at various events, I have been at where they have donated items. I’ve always been impressed with their generosity when they participate in those events! Tonight we got to try the Thursday night giant pizza special. It really is giant! We enjoyed it! When I went and was impressed with the environment of the restaurant. I had never been in there before, but it’s a great set up! We will be back!!

It’s not as expensive as other restaurants in the area (although still pricey). But you definitely get food worthy of the price. The portion sizes and quality more than make up for the cost. We both had to get a togo box and left full. My steak was so tender and juicy and my husband’s pork chop was melt in your mouth. The Alfredo pasta we got as a side was phenomenal! Left us wanting more (if we could hold more that is). Our server was also super sweet. Over all a wonderful experience.

I was really disappointed coming here. Our server was nice and even the owner came up to us and checked on us (before the slew of problems came). I ordered the Ribeye steak and they cooked it as I ordered, but they don’t have any steak sauce in the building… I wish I would have known that before ordering the steak.

The next big problem was when I ordered brussel sprouts as one of the sides with my entree. The way they cook their brussel sprouts is they deep fry them in a vat of oil and they don’t season them at all. It’s just plain, deep fried brussel sprouts with no seasoning, salt, or anything. That totally defeats the purpose of getting the brussel sprouts as a vegetable when they deep fry it in vegetable oil.

The spinach and artichoke dip was a bit bland, but the deep fried bread served with it was alright. We also bought a crab cake appetizer… almost $18 for one single crab cake, and it didn’t even taste that great.

Coming here was a real letdown and a disappointment.

Our service was great Saturday! The server was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations. The seafood manicotti was absolutely delicious, as well as the crab dip, and the chicken/shrimp Alfredo. We will definitely be back!

We really were looking forward to finding an Italian restaurant around here, but this one failed miserably. The place was mostly empty for a Saturday evening, but once we got seated it was at least 15 minutes before anyone stopped at our table. Short on staff?, don’t know. Our server took our drink and dinner orders together ( we weren’t sure when she’d get back) and that was fine – the timing on it was fine – though we noticed the party of 8 next to us getting their food in batches. I was looking forward to the PEI mussels, but the server did not offer the two different sauces and mine came out with a very spicy marinara. Too spicy to taste anything but red pepper. I sent that back and ordered the garlic broth version, but it was super salty – so ended up just removing all the mussels and eating my side order of pasta instead. Husband’s steak was okay, but the fried shrimp was overbreaded, so he took those apart. Needless to say we were not going to venture an order of dessert. Add to that the dining room had a distinct odor to it… which turned out to be a plug-in for masking odors…of what I don’t know. There was also a wall mounted A/C unit behind a black curtain in the dining room blowing air into the room????… A problem with the central A/C, don’t know… Altogether, a ‘been there tried it ‘ place for sure.

First time here and might be my last, unless I come back for the beef carpaccio (which I couldn’t get because they were out of it). Let me start out by saying I had high expectations before coming here, because I heard a former chef from Stalla restaurant opened Mangiamo up with a lot of similar items from there.

~Calamari- crispy with flavorful marinara sauce and lemon aioli it in. They gave us extra calamari because they had to come out and tell us they ran out of beef carpaccio. Appreciated that.
~The Frutti de Mare was bland. It took the server 8 minutes to bring out the bread that was included with it.
~The lasagna was underwhelming.
~The polenta was okay, decent.
~Broccolini stole the show. 9/10 Loved the hint of lemon juice on it.
~Tiramisu was good, but I could do without so much chocolate on it.

The food wasn’t so bad, but the service we received made our dinner experience so bad. It took 10 minutes to be greeted by someone that was not our server. When we finally learned who our server was, it took her at least 15 minutes before she refilled our waters. We asked for the check as soon as we got the dessert and it still took her 9-10 minutes to bring it out. We spent 1h:30m at dinner even though we ordered our apps and entrees at the same time. Server needs to learn how to time manage the tables better.

Once again, Chef Aaron’s wine pairing does not disappoint. I could eat his menu every single night. His bread pudding, unique as everything else he creates, was the star of the evening. One of my all time favorite desserts, his cinnamon roll and French bread with raspberry liqueur never disappoints.

The staff made it a truly special night. Looking forward to the next event!

This is an Italian restaurant that is off Cowan Lorraine Road in Gulfport. It has been open since November 2022. The atmosphere is awesome. The food was spot on, and the staff are warm and welcoming. The co owner James will make sure that your dining experience has been great. They have a well stocked bar for adult beverages and Aaron will welcome you and serve you with a smile. It is a great place for lunch, family dinner, or a romantic dinner for two. It is also kid friendly. They have outside dining available…..
Tried their meatball sub, which was awesome. The meatballs were cooked perfection they have a different flare on french fries. They were good also. I would call them spiral fries.. their chicken Parmesan was superb. Chicken was fried and juicy, red sauce was spot on and pasta cooked to perfection. If you haven’t been there, you need to try it I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves good Italian food at a great price, they do offer daily lunch specials, but remember they are closed on Tuesday.
If you are local, give them a try, you will not be let down. If you are traveling, they are only a short distance from the I-10.

We ordered to-go meals through a delivery system and when it got to us it was missing the sauce. I called the restaurant directly and the manager was extremely polite and kind and had someone run it over to our rental in about 5 minutes. We aren’t local but we like to visit and we will 100% eat here again next time we’re in town. Our dinner was delicious & the staff would get 6 stars if I could figure out how to do it.
