Why anyone would come here twice is bewildering. Was here for dinner. First time. Seated right away and then we weren’t spoken to for another 20 mins. Walked by a couple times, but not acknowledged. When we eventually did get to order anything, the waitress was rude/gruff, made no suggestions, and took all personality out of the experience. When paying, we were notified that if you pay by card, you cannot leave a tip on the card. This is a good way to ensure you dont get a tip.
Aside from the lousy service, chicken parm was over cooked. Overall, food would be better prepared at home. And the garlic cheese bread everyone raves about tastes like American cheese melted on cheap garlic bread.
We will not return. I suggest Lib’s in Elmira. Worth the drive over this place.

Ignored by staff initially, waited to be seated, 10 minutes to get drinks, 25 minutes for sub- par dog TV dinner quality food rude and obnoxious staff, cash tips only. Look at other reviews, the only positive reviews came from generational guests or local business owners both supporting the past for the present. It’s may have been good decades ago but needs to update menu, staff, operations,and site. Probably best if they close up.

Upon entering we stood in the front door area until we finally went to the bar to find somebody to check us in. They seated us rather quickly. We waited approximately 80 minutes to get our food from the time we sat down. The food came out delicious and hot! Service was poor but not due to the waitress she was great but it was one person in the whole place so they’re way understaffed. We finished dinner and then waited another 30 minutes to get our bill and be able to leave. I recommend lots of patience.

This Restaurant has been operating here by the same family since the 30s. If you like real homemade Italian dishes~ from the old family recipes ~ this restaurant will knock your socks off. From the Lasagna to the Spaghetti and Meatballs to the Garlic White Pizza ~ no other Italian restaurant compares. The atmosphere will take you back to another time when the railroad was running in the town and Frank was playin’ on the radio. The prices are very reasonable too. .. It’s fun to sit in the bar area where the bartender will tell you stories from that time if you just ask. They make super drinks and have great wine as well… I’ve been going here all my life and it’s still my favorite Italian restaurant ever. 🙂

If you are looking for some Italian food where you can enjoy an old school restaurant this is the place. The garlic pizza bread you get as an appetizer before the meal and bread is wonderful. Veal is good and also homemade spaghetti.

Went to dinner tonight with my fiancé for Valentine’s Day. Made reservations a couple weeks ago but it didn’t even seem to matter since the guy that sat us didn’t really care. We got sat in the back by the kitchen and at a small table and it just felt crowded. There was no music playing, dim lighting, and just people talking that resulted in a weird atmosphere. Server asked us for drinks and was very quiet almost could not hear her. We ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer, how could we go wrong? They came out burnt and out waitress never asked if we liked them. I ordered gnocchi W/ meatballs & he ordered ravioli W/ Meatballs. In the mean time they brought us bread. The garlic bread was pretty good. Our meal was edible but not great. The gnocchi just didn’t look good or taste good. My fiancé said ravioli was basic. Sauce was good. Went to pay and there was no spot for a tip on the receipt, asked server, she said the owner just switched to card system and is old school. Had to use the ATM in the back, just to be able to tip our waitress. Will not return.

Service and staff was good, we enjoyed ourselves. Food was great and filling. Only thing that I would say that’s bad is that you can’t tip with a credit card, it has to be cash.

My lovely bride and I went with another couple to Mangialardo’s for the first time. The service was excellent, considering the only server also had to make pizzas and salads due to a lack of kitchen staff she told us. 3 of our 4 meals were very good, chicken marsala, lasagna and homemade fettuccine with meatballs. I had the rigatoni and meatballs. The meatballs were homemade and delicious, the sauce was good but the rigs all fell apart when I put a fork in them. We also had a red pizza for the table that was delicious. The table bread basket had their garlic pizza in it which was fabulous. All in we would return for another meal.

Amazzzing! The garlic cheese pizza honestly is an incredible slice of heaven. Its the only thing I ever get there, but I hear they have other great dishes. But the garlic cheese pizza is what they’re known for. I usually get a couple half-baked pizzas to take home and freeze for later, since I live 2 hours away. It’s definitely worth the drive. This is a family-run restaurant, and when you’re there the long-time servers and staff treat you like family too. You can’t go wrong with this place!
