Chill and friendly atmosphere, there were regulars that the staff knew by name. The sushi was really excellent, fresh, but not pretentious. We got great service and will return soon!

Cute little place we found, the food was really good. The salmon sashimi was so fresh and delicious. One of the best sashimi’s I’ve had.
The manhatten roll was delicious although I didn’t get a pic of that!

When a new little sushi place opened in the neighborhood we just had to go check it out. Intimate dining atmosphere, amazingly fresh, artfully plated , and lovingly curated menu. It was so great! My husband I got the poke bowl and we snapped pics of some rolls before they got served. Go now before it gets too crowded and you can say you went before anyone knew about them.

I’ve been ordering sushi regularly for years, and this place is by far the best. The fish is always so fresh, and the crispy rice is incredible. On top of that, their customer service is amazing. I usually call because I can’t edit one of my orders on DoorDash, and the moment they pick up, they already know it’s me and say they’ve got me. I completely understand why this place is so popular. It’s become my go to spot. I used to order sushi from multiple places, but now I only order from here.

Delicious! Friends are visiting from out of town and we are all sick with the flu! One of my friends said she was in the mood for sushi, and I thought we all would benefit from Miso soup! Delicious food! Our favorite was the sweat potato rolls, and the salad with watermelon radishes! Amazing! We will for sure be back! At least I will since I live here in NYC! With all the sushi places in NYC this is by far one of the best! Ps. sesame seeds are one of the top 9 allergens but they are not related to tree nuts. Good for everyone to know the difference. Also I would have loved to tip the restaurant but I was not able to order directly from the restaurant and only the carrier gets the tip! Consider adding a place to tip the restaurant! Thank you.

I went to Mangetsu the first time last year then I’m hooked because the cozy and quiet atmosphere and the present surprise of the restaurant’s extensive variety sushi roll. I like chef’d special rolls such as the mouth watering Manhattan roll with delicious and crunchy shrimp tempura and seared salmon on top, tuna lover roll with ruby red fresh tuna, dragon roll – juicy eel with its sauce on top, ect. I’m willing to over look the miso soup because it just my preference that I like my miso soup more flavorful of miso paste, The shrimp shumai was filled with meaty shrimps, I’m satisfied with my every visit. My service are always present and friendly, the waiter and waitress understand their menu and making sure that in-person customers are talking care even though some day delivery calls are off the hook! All in all, I would recommend Mangetsu to all my friends and will bring my out of town families when they are craving for sushi.

Budget-driven, very affordable lunch specials — but there was a piece of plastic on the roll, and the table was dusty. In terms of taste, it was pretty mid. Service was so slow not attentive but friendly.

Had a poke bowl 6/21/2025. It was good and different, as they included wasabi and some ginger (pictured), on the side and easily removed, if you don’t want/like. The poke “sauce” had a hint of mayonnaise like taste to me; maybe the Japanese Kewpie mayo I guess.
I asked the waitress if brown rice was an option, and not available. Maybe this can be a future, extra charged option, if demand is there to justify the incurred brown rice & cooker cost.
Poke bowls I get from various restaurants in the LA area seem to have a sauce that is soysauce based (thats what it tastes like to me) and have never included wasabi and ginger.
