Went into Mandy‘s fish & chips today at 2:30 PM and ordered ‘Mandy’s Special’ of Fish and shrimp. I specifically asked for catfish and the older lady at the counter asked me a second time which fish I wanted out of catfish, tilapia, Whiting, and Bass, choices. I said “catfish” for clarification. Received my order, hot and fresh but did not check it before leaving I was not given catfish, so I called the store and the same lady answered, I informed her I had just left and she did not give me catfish. She was rude when she said I could come back, and asked what type of fish was it and how would I know?!. I stated maybe whiting or tilapia, and my order did not look, smell or taste like catfish, and I knew my cat fishes because I’ve been fishing for and eating catfish from many places since I was a young girl and now in my 50s. She and proceeded to tell me I didn’t know what I was talking about, and hung up in my face.
I will never order from this restaurant again. Check your order before leaving and don’t be afraid to call them out if it’s wrong.

Mom and pop joint atmosphere! I dont expect a cheesecake factory ambiance for fish and chips . However they played kid friendly content bc there weren’t many people when we came and we had our 6yo with us, and the sound system was impressive . Food was great! We ordered WAAAY to much. I didn’t expect a 3 piece to fill me up, but I was expecting 3 pieces of “Pete’s F&C” sized fish. I was wrong!! I was full on 1 piece!! I LOVED the starter sauce. It was kinda chunky! Much more than simple mayo and relish mix. I did NOT like the hot sauce. But if they serve hot sauce with fish you know there was good flavor [on the fish]! Cashier was polite and attentive forgot her name !
This is my new fish spot.

This is a mom and pop spot. I had their catfish shrimp Hush Puppy french fry combo for 12.99 it was a special of the day. The shrimp were good sized fish was seasoned well, crinkle cut french fries all served piping hot a nice assortment of drinks to choose from. The corps is simple very functional

The fish was dry and the flavor was completely absent. We ordered the fish with cornmeal batter among other items. We picked at everything and eventually called it, throwing it away. The hotsauce for the fish tastes like water down Tabasco. It looks like it must be a neighborhood favorite because the place was full, but it was also the first Friday of Lent…. sorry for the bad review, but you have to look at doing better with your food quality and maybe the cook.

I ordered the 3pc Whiting meal and it was better than I expected! The fish was well seasoned, moist, and perfectly fried. It wasn’t hard, dry, or rubbery, and the fries were crunchy on the outside yet soft and hot inside.

I was surprised to see plasticware and napkins in the bag in addition to ample amounts of hot sauce and ketchup.

The prices are great! The food is great! The portions are great! 10/10 highly recommend.

Food was fabulous. Fresh. Made to order. The cocktail sauce was different but I still enjoyed it. They could clean the whole place up and for sure the bathroom.

My girl ordered the three-piece fish cod with three-piece trim and one extra piece of shrimp totaling 4 pieces of shrimp I got two pieces of a catfish a piece of shrimp a large order of fries and some fries thrown in with my fish and shrimp it tastes like rubber and when I tried calling them at 8:45 nobody answered I guess that’ll teach me to order too close to closing cuz then they throw in whatever you want and then charge you for it very disappointed that was my dinner and it is nasty

Absolutely Disgusted – First and Last Time!
I was excited to try Mandy’s Fish and Chips for the first time, but this was hands down one of the worst food experiences I’ve ever had. The fish was completely inedible — dry, hard, stale, and clearly old. It was so tough and chewy I couldn’t even bite into it. I ended up having to throw the entire order away. Total waste of money. I don’t know how anyone could serve food in that condition and think it’s acceptable. Beyond disappointed — never again.

As soon as I walked in the door I had second thoughts about eating here. I’m not sure why a fish and chips place would have cheese steak on their menu… I mean if they were doing well enough with selling fish they wouldn’t have to have a bunch of other bullshit on their menu. Think about it..
The guy’s a fish expert what the hell does he know about making a good cheese steak?
The place was filthy and it took way too long for me to get my order. When I got my order, it smelled terrible. I think they gave me a couple of pieces of fish that they had left over or were about to throw out. The Dr pepper from the fountain drink machine had so much sugar in it, I need to go get my check to see if I have diabetes.
This place is horrible. I should have trusted my instincts when I walked in, and turned around and walked out….

Verdict: Good, but not great.

Okay, here we go:

I stopped by while visiting the area for work and it was mixed results. On the upside, the prices were great; very fair for this type of food. The portion size was good as well. The digital signage and menu was a plus and even the drink was fairly priced.

In the middle was the quality of the fish. It wasn’t bad, mind you. Is was much better than a chain fast food stop that happens to serve some fish. But, it wasn’t near the tender deliciousness that can be found at other places around the state who specialize in fried fish. Even the tartar sauce was just okay. Not bad, just not exceptional.

On the bad side though is the facility. If you’re going to stay and eat, beware. The table was lopsided, every condiment bottle was so sticky it felt like it had never been deep cleaned, if you look up there’s strobing LED lights that are just way too intense, if you look down…just don’t look down – the floors haven’t been truly scrubbed and polished in a minute. And finally, as a pet peeve, instead of tinting the windows or putting in shades, they chose to cover them completely with curtains, so there’s no way to see outside except through the tiny front door.

Overall, it may totally be worth your while to give them a try. They have a drive through, I believe, so you wouldn’t have to eat inside of you don’t want. But, you might give this a hard pass too. I guess it really depends on how much you love fried fish. They have other stuff too, but that’s just a poor business decision. Stick with a small menu of what you do well and do it great. But for what is worth, I hope they clean up the other stuff and get it right. We need more fish and chips places like this in Arizona, I don’t want any of them to fail.
