Stopped in to try the old fashion country skillet. I love the combination of ingredients and I added extra cheese. I enjoyed the meal it wasn’t overwhelming but decently good. There was just slight seasoning and most of the flavor came from the actual skillet ingredients. This reminds me of a friendly diner with homestyle meals. My server was great. Unfortunately dont recall her name. Between this and the chain breakfast eateries I’d choose this spot every time.

Classic diner vibes with delicious, fluffy pancakes. Love that the maple syrup wasn’t overly sweet. Corned beef hash is also really good. Friendly service! Planning to go again when craving pancakes.

This is an old school breakfast joint that probably looks the same as it did when it opened (likely 20-30 years ago?). The prices are still reasonable, the portions good, and the food is delicious. I had the Biscuits and Gravy breakfast ($11!), which also comes with 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon. I’m a Biscuits and Gravy critic, being raised in the south. This was definitely one of the best! This was my first visit, but definitely not my last! Plenty of free parking is an added benefit. RECOMMENDED!

This is my breakfast spot of choice. I go for the huevos rancheros and the country potatoes. The salsa reminds me of home and what a simple, traditional huevos rancheros should be. They have a simple and standard breakfast menu. My kids get breakfast scrambles and steak and eggs. The coffee stays hot and the cup stays full. Always good service and always feel welcomed. Its far from high end but they do it right.

One of the best breakfast spots in Hawthorne. I would classify Mandy’s as a Country Diner for multiple reasons. It feels like you’re eating in someone’s house vs a 50’s car-centered diner, and I mean that in a positive way. It’s very homely and you can tell it’s the sort of place that is filled with regulars and travelers alike. I am a huge fan of diners and was excited to eat as soon as I saw the inside. It’s a true classic diner in all senses of the word. It’s quite large on the inside and they have plenty of indoor only seating options. They have booths, tables, and counter seating. There is a large free parking lot attached so parking is easy and plentiful. Our server was very polite and she was very fast with the refills.
Just like any classic diner they have a lot of great options on their large menu plus a rotating list of daily specials. I started off the meal with a cup of coffee, per usual, and it was tasty and strong. For my meal I chose my favorite breakfast dish: the Eggs Benedict. It was very good and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The ham was thick and cooked to a perfect temperature. As a side I chose one biscuit topped with gravy and it was fantastic. It was a true thick, flaky, old-school biscuit and it went quickly.
Overall I was very impressed. I live up in West LA so am not in this area often, but I would stop in again next time I am down in the area and would certainly suggest to anyone in the area of heading to it.

Good place to catch breakfast. Great price for a the amount food you get. The inside feels like you’ve been transported back in time or you’ve stepped into a movie. Great service. Can get crowded on the weekends.

Feels like going into a “Cheers” bar, but it’s a diner. Cozy, warm, very nice atmosphere. Great American diner food. Really good service. Great affordable pricing. Better than any Denny’s or Norm’s.

This is a great local business that gives off retro/nostalgia diner vibes when you enter. Food is solid, service pleasant. Couldn’t really ask for much else!

This is a classic diner, locally owned with a big menu and a very solid breakfast. The shakes are old school with the chocolate shakes made with chocolate ice cream. There is very little turn over in the friendly staff which makes me think the owners try to do right by them. Given its aesthetic, there have also been a few movies filmed here including most recently, Wolfs, with George Clooney and Brad Pitt. The booth is marked.

Classic American diner in Hawthorne. Came here with a friend on a weekday morning and there was no wait. Free parking available in their lot. We split the breakfast burrito and breakfast chorizo skillet. We got a side of sourdough bread with the skillet and breakfast potatoes with our burrito. Food came out quickly and the waiter was really nice. Plenty of indoor booth seating and the meals were hearty (albeit oily). They do have a healthy menu available if you’re counting calories. Credit cards are accepted.
