Not from Alexandria, so we don’t know many places to eat. While at Tractor Supply, we look over and see this place. At first wasn’t so sure, but saw they had good reviews. We walked in and it immediately got busy for their dinner shift. We had a ten minute wait with many parties coming in after us, so we could only assume the food was good. That’s an understatement.. the food was amazing and the portions size along with price is amazing! We got the crab wontons as an app then Pork in Garlic Sauce and Tiny Spicy Chicken as entree.. it was so good. Looking at other tables, the food they had also looked great. We come through once a month and have officially agreed this will be our dinner stop!

I ordered a dinner combo to go and it was absolutely delicious! It was good price for everything I got. The lady who took my order on the phone was so sweet and patient. I would be returning again when I’m back in town.

This was the Mongolian beef with lo mein. 10/10

Monica, the waitress was outstanding for the Bouie family, what a blessing she is. The food was great, someone in our party is hard to please when it comes down to food, but here there was NO complaints, the portions were huge, had to get a box to bring food home, very tasty, of course this was our first time there, but we will come back. 5 stars, all the way.

Took my wife to eat for new years eve. We was actually going to a different restaurant and saw their sign and decided to try something new. Im glad we did

Was seated immediately
Our server was friendly and got us everything we requested quick

Kitchen staff was very quick on our appetizers and main course

We ordered sushi rolls and sashimi all was fresh and well presented
The asparagus soup for two had so much flavour me and my wife really enjoyed it. Added some chili oil and soy gave a great combo.

For entree we ordered the orange chicken it was crispy and flavor was very orange forward which was well recieved.

All and all our dining experience was a hit and we will be back.

Go check them out if you havent

Beware of what they tell you they have vs what you get. Just ordered a kani salad and for $8 I received a small lump of crab meat with spicy mayo on top. When I called to ask about the cucumber the lady started arguing saying they don’t have a kani salad. Then she said they do but she told us they didn’t put cucumber in theirs. Then she changed her story a couple of more times about a crab salad with cucumber that they do have but it was obvious that she was trying to cover for the mistake. No offer to make it right whatsoever, just lies and rudeness. We will not order from there again.

The Mandarin in Alexandria

My friends and and I went to the Mandarin tonight to eat. There were six adults, a 2 year old, a 7 month old, and a 9 month old. One set of friends got there first and told the hostess 6 adults and 3 high chairs. She sat them in the big room behind the register. Halfway through our meal, the owners wife comes in and is so rude to us. She says the room must have 12 adults, but she will let it go this time. One of my friends tries to explain to her that we did not ask for the room. We told the hostess our guests, and she sat us there. The lady gets loud. My friend asks her to tone it down. The lady begins counting everyone and says babies cannot be counted as guests. We must have 12 guests. Again, my friend says you need to talk your hostess. She sat us here. The lady says during rush hour this table must have 12 adult guests, or you can’t sit here. Again, we explained that we didn’t ask to be seated in that room. We didn’t care where we sat that it was the hostess. She stormed out saying she would talk to her. She didn’t come back. I just couldn’t believe how rude she was to us.

I would like to say that our server was wonderful. She had no idea that the owner’s wife did this.

I come to Alexandria pretty much only for work trips and wanted some Chinese food for dinner. Ordered pickup, so I didn’t get much of an impression of the service or atmosphere, but the Tiny Spicy Chicken was genuinely great as a lot of reviews pointed out.

But what shocked me was how large the portion was. First picture was the full order- second was my leftovers that I ate for breakfast today. I’m not a light eater AT ALL; if I’m getting two full meals from it, then the portion size is massive. The chicken was really, really good and flavorful, too. The cost was incredibly reasonable: I think it was $17 for the meal (the chicken and a thing of rice that was literally bulging from how much they had packed in there). Factoring in the quality, size, and price, this was better than even my favorite Chinese places from Shreveport.

I was so impressed that I started to feel bad for not leaving a big enough tip, so I decided to leave this review instead.

I have never had a bad experience at Mandarin. I especially like the lady during the day during lunch. She has glasses and is very kind. Always smiles. When I go I order the Zomi role typically and I order mine special. They have never complained about making it that way, they always go above and beyound..I also like there crab rangoon or cream cheese crab wonton. Compared to other restaurants in the area the quality is good for the price. The Kung bo shrimp is also one of my favorites. I also like the fact that they state on the menu what is imported. Restaurant is typically clean and bathrooms are nice. In the thousand times I have been there I have only seen one fly and that earns an A ++ in my book. Sushi there is always fresh, I have never tasted a fishy taste which I truly appreciate..

We stopped here while looking for something to try different and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and professional, our order was promptly taken while our drinks arrived and in no time our food was on the table.
This place is not a buffet, and while there is no browsing entrees, the portions are fresh and right out of the kitchen while the portions would dissuade most from needing something extra.
It was a nice dining experience and we’ll enjoy going again.

Went looking for a place to eat on Easter Sunday and found Mandarin restaurant. Nice and clean the wait staff was friendly and polite.
Husband ordered Kwoh Ba Shrimp which was unbelievable the presentation of it was so nice and he said it tasted good.
I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp & Scallops, and that was very good. The egg rolls, I’m not so sure were totally cooked but we ate them!
Too bad we are just travelling through .. I would say, this is a must stop!
