So nice to have a kosher place to eat in Key West! An older Israeli woman runs the place and everything is made fresh to order from the kitchen behind the counter. Delicious flavors and one of the best Shawarma sandwiches that I ever had, bonus points for warming up the baguette before serving. The prices are a little bit high but Kosher is often and this is Key West where everything is pricey. It’s under Kosher supervision of Chabad of Key West, highly recommend.

(Visited on 01.27.2026) I’m leaving this review because I relied on the ratings before visiting, and I wish I had read something like this beforehand.

The sandwich was okay, similar to a Mediterranean-style sandwich, but the portion was small for the price. I tried to enjoy it since I was on vacation.

The owner seemed to want to provide service, but her attitude was strong and uncomfortable. In the Jerusalem Mixed sandwich with baguette I ordered, I found a curly hair in the sandwich cut in half — it was visible in the cross-section and looked exactly like her hair. However, I removed it and continued eating, because I didn’t want to ruin my vacation, but it should never happen.

At checkout, the menu listed pita sandwiches as $17 and baguettes as $20. We ordered a kebab pita sandwich, but it was charged $18. When I pointed out the menu price, she insisted it was $18 because it was lamb, even though this was not written anywhere. I let it go to avoid conflict.

Then I saw extra charges on the receipt. She said one was tax and the other was a card processing fee. Adding this without notice felt unfair. While we were deciding about tipping, she took the receipt away abruptly. It felt rude and ruined the experience.

Overall, food hygiene issue, the tables were dirty, portions were small, prices were high, and service was unfriendly. I do not recommend this place. Read reviews carefully before visiting.

Found this gem (on Google Maps!) while visiting from out of town. The owner is a charmingly grouchy (but actually very sweet) older Israeli lady who is abs hilarious. The food was awesome and good value. I got the Israeli salad first (forgot to take a pic) then Shakshuka which came with amazing hummus and (not in the pic) a fluffy pita. 5⭐s well deserved!

The food is so freaking delicious and you can taste the care and Love she puts into HAND MAKING all her dishes. The coffee is strong, but the Love is Stronger!! I would recommend this place to anyone who has tried Israeli food and misses it, or anyone who has not and wants to experience something truly special.

If you’re looking for a standout kosher lunch experience in Key West, Mam’s Best Food is an absolute gem. The host and chef, affectionately known as “Mam,” delivers not just fresh, delicious Israeli cuisine, but a warm, unforgettable hospitality that makes you feel like family. Every dish bursts with flavor, perfectly spiced to your taste—just ask Mam, and she’ll craft something special, whether you’re craving a classic shawarma, a spicy eggplant pita, or her famously light, fresh falafel. The bread, especially the pita and baguette, is served hot and fluffy, the ideal base for her vibrant salads and spreads. Outdoor seating adds to the laid-back, homey vibe, and Mam’s lively personality turns every meal into a memorable experience. Whether you keep kosher or just love great food, this is a must-visit spot in Key West.

The food was great, however the service was very bad.
Don’t be surprised if you get screamed at or rushed for no reason.

Paid premium prices for an Israeli salad and got lunch + a show. I watched the Karen owner snap at a customer for asking two more questions about the food. Then she slammed the menu on the counter and yelled at another couple who wanted to eat a key lime pie they brought in along with the kosher food they purchased here. She could’ve simply said, “No outside food,” without treating people like trash. Not coming back.

We came here with our 6-month-old baby. While we were getting our baby settled and reviewing the menu, the server approached us with a visible attitude. When we said we weren’t ready yet, she made an unpleasant face. When we asked for a recommendation, she replied “everything” in a rude, dismissive tone.

Her behavior made us feel unwelcome, so we left without eating. Very poor customer service.

A unique restaurant in Key West. Israeli kosher food in an outdoor location. Excellent Israeli food. The restaurant is run by a very charming Israeli woman. She is very Israeli; crusty with a heart of gold.
