Snapper was definitely the star. Seasoned well, crispy but not dry. Rice and salad was okay.
Waitress who took my order: Small interaction but very Impactful. She was pleasant, smiled, welcoming, offered us advice regarding menu options, and honestly if I wasn’t a little pressed for time, made me wish I could have dined in. NEXT TIME.

A big improvement, compared to previous owners. Services excellent!!! The appetizer was everything!!! The mojito very weak (no flavor) and the mofongo was a 2 (as a Puertorican i was expecting more) No saying that was bad, but nothing to do with our traditional Puertorican mofongo. But definitely I will ne back because the service was excellent!!!

I’ve visited the mambo on 4 different occasions and the service was excellent each time. The atmosphere was live and upbeat. The bartenders Ray and Hannah is awesomen. Ray, Jenisa , Sava and Ana great waitress. The Snapper was definitely on point Seasoned well, crispy . Rice and Red beans was very good. Waiting on the day they have gondolas and rice.

It’s 7pm on a Saturday night. Fairly quiet aside from a few at the bar. The Waitress was very nice and attentive. I got the pork chops which.. maybe it’s because I’m from the south but they were dry, chewy, and disappointing. Way over-fried, pork chops only need to be cooked to 140°. I wasn’t expecting pork chop jerkey for $15. I also got some form of sweet plantain nachos which are pretty good. The best thing by far has been the Bahama Mama drink.
Despite the pork chops I’m enjoying myself.

The place I went to is actually called Fatboy’s and I REALLY wanted to adore this place, but as a gal that really loves a chef who puts passion in their food, I can’t. The atmosphere is great here. The decor is on point. The food CAN be great with just a little more love.
What they do right: Their clam chowder is out of this world. While it’s more of a Boston clam chowder and not a traditional new England clam chowder it was so creamy, tasty, satisfying and filling. I probably shouldn’t have ordered anything else as I was well and truly stuffed after. The fried foods are well prepared and meals are served in a timely manner. The steak was cooked perfectly and served with fresh veggies. THEY HAVE GOOEY BUTTER CAKE! As a current St. Louis gal I was really happy to see this offered on the menu and served JUST right! (Don’t miss this offering) As we dined I was happy to see folks going up and down the stairs to prepare for a large party for the following day. the staff was VERY attentive and accommodating while they set up their space.
What can use some improvement: I had chicken parmesan. While the butterflied fried chicken was amazing the pasta was tossed with canned spaghetti sauce. It’s not difficult to make sauce fresh. Imho it would elevate the dish tremendously. The chicken was smothered in cheese. Too much for my taste, but hey- if that’s your thing, cool.
Overall I would probably visit this restaurant again if out and hungry but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again.

My first time here. The food was excellent! I had shrimp in garlic sauce with veggies, with a side of yellow rice and beans – superb! My friend had paella with sweet plantains and yellow rice. We sat on the patio to enjoy our meal. And our waitress was very attentive and very quite knowledgeable about the menu. High recommended! I WILL be back! Thank you!!!

This restaurant is a complete lack of respect. This is the second time I’ve gone because it says it’s open, and once again it’s closed. Google Maps says they open at 11 a.m., and both times I came around 12 or 1, it was closed. Don’t waste your time—especially if you’re coming from far away. You might get there and find out they just decided not to open.

Awesome find. They weren’t busy at all but wow was the food great. We had arroz con pollo (rice with chicken) with a side of maduros (sweet plantains) and pibil (pork) with yellow rice that came with a delicious soup/sauce. Plates were enormous and we left way too full with to-go boxes in hand. Very happy and will be back. Thank you!

The food was AMAZING! Full of taste and fresh! Soda drink refills are not free, so it is $3 something after one refill. My review would of been 5 ☆’s, however, our server was extremely sub-standard, who was a younger guy bartender. He NEVER checked-up on us, did not make us feel welcomed (we sat in a booth in the corner), and we had to wave him down, practically send him smoke signals to get his attention. Geez! I know he had a Bar to tend to, but it wasn’t even busy at the bar! Like I said, the Dominican food here is AWESOME! We would definatley return soon.
