This is the definition of delicious family down home cooking! From the moment we walked in , we were greeted by the sweetest young lady. She truly made us feel like family from start to finish. I ordered the fried catfish, greens and Mac and cheese AND EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS ! I had a sweet tea as well which tastes just like the kind Grandma used to make! Thank you for an amazing experience! I will definitely be coming back to visit soon for some of this amazing hospitality and food!

Don’t let the outside of this mom and pop them you away!!! My husband and I tend to find the most enjoyable atmosphere and food to be from the places you normally don’t wanna stop at! Sarah takes pride in her food. We were very impressed from our meal to the banana pudding.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. They offer home cooked food, cooked to order for a reasonable price. The staff are amazingly friendly and the food quality is top notch. I especially love the hot links. The variety of individual sides are made with pride which shows in the quality. Definitely recommend a visit here!

If there was ever a place you could taste the love in the food, THIS IS IT! I mean it’s as close to home cooked as home cooked can get. Great environment, wonderful service and amazing food. They ain’t got 5 ⭐️ across the board for no reason. Mama Sarah thank you so much for making us feel so welcomed ! This is definitely our new go to spot when we’re in Rocky Mount!!!

Best fried fish I’ve had in years and up there with the best I’ve ever had! Eating the food here felt like I was coming home after being away for a very long time! Got the whiting dinner hushpuppies, greens, and mac salad (all fantastic). Also got a Big Smoke (not pictured) which was a big bit of food by itself! Definitely coming back!

If you are looking for authentic soul food and great service, this is your place. The catfish, turnip greens, mac n cheese and hush puppies are incredible. The portions are huge and the prices are reasonable. The servers are friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Mama Sarah’s. We will definitely be back soon!

While traveling from Atlanta to Roanoke, me and my Jeep group stopped here to eat. As we walked through the door, they greet us like family. Servers were very attentive, and went through the menu with us. We ended up going with the catfish meal. Arguably top 3 in catfish that I’ve EVER eaten! After the 2nd bite of the macaroni and cheese…we all immediately asked for an additional container to go, lol. Again, top 3 in theeeee best mac&cheese I’ve EVER eaten!! The catfish and fries were cooked to perfection! We were told that these recipes have been passed down through generations. The comfortable atmosphere, food, service (even the chef came out 2x to check on us) and learning the history of Mama Sarah’s cooking…this place is amazing!
