Mama Rosa Trattoria & Winery is a gem in Temecula. While it can get busy, especially on weekends, the delicious food, impressive wine selection, and lovely ambiance make it well worth the visit. Just be sure to make a reservation, especially during peak season!

Came in on a Saturday night in February and was able to easily get a table for a party of 4. Staff was so welcoming and sweet. They had fire heaters as well as heaters under the terrace. The wine was amazing and the food was top notch. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The gnocchi was so fresh and delightful. Pizza also great. Highly recommend stopping in!

I had dinner here on a Monday around 5pm. I sat on the large patio, which is counter service. You order at the counter, then sit wherever you want and they bring your food to you. I had the spaghetti bolognese. It was undercooked. The carrots were crunchy as were the onions. It was also very sweet, as if sugar was added. I had a Sangiovese which was delicious. My spaghetti and wine came to $34 before tip. I’ve heard the pizza is really good though, so if I return I’d try the pizza.

This our favorite winery in the area! Not only is the wine excellent but the food is great. The patio has gorgeous views and is heated in the cooler temps. They have beer and the games on TV. I have been spending Friday afternoons working from here.

Phenomenal views and atmosphere on the patio with live music i believe on weekends
We got the pepperoni pizza, truffle pizza, and muffuletta as well as the Chardonnay and Lyric Rose. I believe it came out to around ~$110 before tax/tip so decently pricy, especially the muffuletta which I believe was around $30.
The truffle pizza – 9.5 a truly phenomenal pizza using European flour. For my gluten free person it caused minimal bloating and no other issues which has never happened stateside before. The sausage is definitely understated by the truffle but it was still an absolutely banging pie with a great crust
The pepperoni pizza: 7.1 a good pie, but doesn’t really compare to the white pie and I love me sauce on a pie
Muffuletta: 6.9 it’s a good sandwich, but definitely ham heavy over salami and mortadella, just not ideal at the $30 price point
The Chardonnay was definitely better than the rose to me, but let’s be real it’s still Temecula wine no matter how you cut it, it will never compare to France Italy chile etc. or even napa.
When we come back it’ll be for the atmosphere, great service, and truffle pizza. I’ve also got my eyes on the wings, calamari, and pastas. MTF.

Great place. Beautiful view. All outdoor seating. We visited this place on a Saturday. We were seated pretty quickly. You can make a reservation online. As well as view their menu. There was a musician playing a variety of upbeat and relaxing music. Loved it. To order food and drinks, you have to walk up to the counter/bar… and pay as you go. They give you a number and take out the food to your table when ready. It seemed organized. The food was delicious and definitely fresh. I really enjoyed the pizza, salad, and charcuterie board. Easy breezy. The staff was friendly and helpful. This winery as a whole is a yes for me.

Not worth going here at all! The wine tasting next door is great, but just go elsewhere for food. For how well put-together this place seems, the service is actually bad. Our food took over an hour to arrive, and on top of that we had to order from the bar – there’s no waiters and service to tables. There were also no cloth napkins at the tables, no knives and not enough cutlery, and the plates seemed like a plastic-wood (looked very cheap). I don’t understand why the prices of the food are what they are for how cheap the amenities were and the staff weren’t very kind either. We were quite disappointed since we had to wait way too long for the food and the quality of everything and the food was not worth that.

Visited Mama Rosa’s on a Saturday evening for my wedding anniversary and had a great experience. There was no wait despite it being fairly busy. Red wines were delicious and ordered the BBQ pizza which had flavorful, NY style brick oven crust and quality sauce and toppings. Pretty good pizza overall. Pricing was reasonable as well.
The ambiance was wonderful with views of Temecula valley wineries and hills in the distance. Live music was also a plus!
