Since it was our first visit, we took recommendations from our wonderful server, Stephanie, and she did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken parm sandwich with house chips and a side of their ranch (which was AMAZING). We also had the chicken parm dinner with spaghetti and meat sauce, flavorful, comforting, and cooked perfectly.
The meatball appetizer was a standout, and between that and the fresh bread with oil, I was completely satisfied. Everything tasted homemade and full of flavor.
Stephanie was incredibly attentive and made us feel right at home. The GM, Bryan, even stopped by to check on us and make sure everything was perfect…. that extra touch of hospitality really stood out.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. I will definitely be back to try the pizza next!
Highly recommend!
For starters, we were brought some delicious foccacia bread with a chili oil to dip. The bread had a nice crust but soft on the inside. Nicely salted on top. The chili oil added a nice spice.
Our excellent server, (I believe his name was Ryan), went above and beyond as we told him this was our first time visiting.
He recommended the short rib arancini for appetizer. This was DEFINITELY the right call. It is a crispy fried rice ball filled with their house made short rib. It was decadent. Probably our favorite thing we ordered.
For our meals, both of us got the Anna’s cheese ravioli – however, I got mine with the vodka sauce and added a chicken parm cutlet and my wife got the butter and sage sauce with a chicken cutlet as well.
The vodka sauce was amazing. I can’t recommend it more.
The butter and sage sauce was light and refreshing, but flavorful.
For dessert we got the chocolate cake and were treated with a WONDERFUL cannoli. Yes, the cake was great – it was chocolate cake! But that cannoli…thank you, thank you, thank you Mama Ricottas for the BEST cannoli I have ever eaten – it actually became, after last night, one of my FAVORITE desserts.
Parking was sorta difficult but doable.
Ambiance was very very cool. Cozy, warm, dimly lit – perfect for a date night.
All of the staff were friendly and made sure that we had a great experience which we definitely did!
My boyfriend and I enjoyed the tomato & mozzarella! It was very fresh, had juicy and sweet local tomatoes, and delicious olives! Then, we ordered the Penne Alla Vodka with the chicken parm cutlet…
And it’s absolutely 5-stars! Each and every bite felt like a warm hug. The sauce, al-dente pasta, and the light chicken cutlet danced well together. It felt like a bowl of unconditional love. I actually cried tears of joy because it’s been so long since I’ve had food that made me feel that deeply. We both loved our dish and wished we lived closer to Charlotte so we could enjoy Mama Ricotta’s every day!
Thank you, Trey! Thank you, Mama Ricotta staff! Give our thanks to the chefs that made this delectable meal and our weekend the best.
It’s me Stef and I paid Sunday after church visit to MAMA RICOTTA!!! Let’s get into it !
Sunday afternoon between 1:30-2:30 pm
Friendly hostess
Moderate crowd . There’s a bar . And a few screens for watching the game … one of them is tucked in a little nook with high top tables….
I was seated quickly. My server was Jared…yall know me I don’t require much … I was ready to give my menu selections so he took my order.
This time I tried ricotta ravioli… excellent choice! Jared was just enough speed and friendliness. I loved the ambiance for a chilly rainy Sunday afternoon. I got the chocolate cake to go. They allowed me to sit in a booth … I thought they would suggest the bar since I was alone- but they did not – I appreciated that. It was a very friendly environment.
Mama…. I’ll be back soon!.
Now yall … this is in the midtown Met area… parking can be a little congested . It depends on what time of day you come . There is a semi outside seating area with a closed top for cold/rainy weather.
That’s my review
Let’s go eat !
