Headed out this morning with a buddy on our motorcycles with the intention of grabbing lunch at a diner somewhere up near Danville
This place really hit the spot!
The menu, the decor, the folks….. everything you want in a great diner.
The fried bologna sandwich was excellent. The crinkle cut french fries were delicious and perfectly crispy. The sweet tea was spot on.
Everybody there was so friendly and helpful.
Very reasonable prices.
We will definitely be back.

Quick stop for inexpensive beef hotdog and soup.
They have plenty of parking and believe it or not plenty of seating indoors too!
The older lady manning the cash register was not friendly at all. This was my 1st time coming here and she expected me to know what I wanted already. I asked to for a menu. Could be her off day as she left shortly after I ordered my meal and paid.
If I lived in the area I might give this another try for a quick inexpensive meal. If you are just visiting and have limited time, skip this place.

Rode up here just to try the hot dogs. I’d say they were about average. Buns were on the cool side and the chili and slaw, while good, didn’t really standout. Fries were good. Otherwise, the service was excellent and very friendly despite me being an outsider amidst regulars. And the atmosphere was great. I mean, look at the place and the name – how can you go wrong with a place like this when it comes to character. Overall I rated it a 4, but really it is more like a 4.7.

If you’re a fan of old school burger joints then you’ve struck gold. Try the Brunswick Stew and the beef hot dogs !! Set you clock back to 1963 :-). Car hop service or eat in. Menu is limited but classic. (VA state representative spotted on my recent visit.) Don’t blink or you’ll miss it.
