They are served extra large bowl. I share my with my wife and it’s plenty food. It has a lot of meat and noodles compared to the other pho restaurant. They serve another entry but I prefer the pho.

We frequent the shopping center at least once a week and never tried this place because we are not a fan of pho. We happened to be in the right place at the right time and decided to try it for a bahn mi and some vermicelli. We walked in and found the staff so welcoming and the atmosphere was beautiful and so calm as compared to the hustle and bustle of the shopping center. I was impressed by key questions, as we ordered vegetarian (are peanuts okay?) and when served, they also confirmed vegetarian selection (even for the dipping sauce!). Again, I cannot say enough at the politeness of the staff and the quality of the food. Would absolutely go here again. In our opinion, it is a hidden gem! The one thing I felt could be improved, was my Diet Coke was served from the bar and didn’t have the fizz I wanted…it was a little weak. Other than that, absolutely perfect visit. (Note, the price per person is including a $9 dessert. If not for dessert, we would have fallen into the $10-20 range).

Mama Pho is a nice looking Vietnamese restaurant in Ala Moana mall. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming.

The pho was the normal large proportion that you would expect with pho.

The amount of meat in a serving was a goodly amount. But it is a $30 serving so it is correctly proportioned.

The staff were friendly giving their broken English. They did seem a little uncomfortable serving haole and preferred to spend time at and speak at length with those that talked their language. No offense taken on my part. But others might not think the same so this is a warning.

Now to the part I didn’t like. Pho is about the broth. Mama Pho’s broth was average at best. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either.

So I’m conclusion if you are craving an ok bowl of soup while shopping at the mall then this could be an option for you.

Good location, and the restaurant is nice. Pho was okay and portion is small for the price you pay. Not the best bowl I’ve ever had and not the worst. The garnishes (bean sprouts, etc.) did not taste fresh. Do not get their Vietnamese Taco Crepe (Banh Xeo) as it tasted sour. My guess is the the milk used to make the crepe was spoiling. Fish sauce that comes with it was okay. I ate the crepe anyway as no one came to check on us at all while we ate, and I was hungry. The two entrees were not enough for two people. By the time someone came to check on us, we were basically done with our meal. Overall, service was slow and lacked attentiveness as we had a pile of dirty dishes that never got picked up. The staff was not rude, but they weren’t friendly either. Unfortunately, I would not go again.

We came on Mother’s Day which is actually the mr’s bday and since we celebrated the day before I didn’t mind coming here on a whim. We were at the mall returning stuff when we decided to give Mama’s a chance as every other restaurant was packed for Mother’s Day. Mama’s was not.
I used to go to their other location do was curious to see if there were any differences.
The restaurant is large and for some reason, we were seated all the way in the back.
We ordered the vegetarian spring rolls. They came frozen inside. They were returned, apologized for and another batch came out fully heated. I assume they are pre/made and frozen, and fried upon order. We were not charged for them. The broth to both pho’s we ordered were good. They have their own chili oil/paste that even mild is hot so beware. The bahn mi was good with the expected crispiness on the outside and chewy dough on the inside.
Would I return? Maybe.
They are located in Ala Moana shopping center next to Tanaka of Tokyo on the 3rd floor.

Dining experience was okay. Food was good. Not sure how I feel about the 3-4$ charges for lettuce/cilantro. Staff was not kind but was not rude either. The pho and spring rolls tasted good but I am unlikely to revisit.

Portions are huge and very reasonably priced. Combo is such a great deal. Rare Steak / Beef Meatball Pho – broth was very flavorful – and Spring Rolls were great. Would love to share about dessert but was too full to order any! Try it. Very good.

We heard about Mama Pho and made it here to lunch. It was right after lunch and there weren’t too many people in the restaurant. We were seated right away and the food came pretty quickly. I ordered the veggie pho and the veggie vermicelli bowl. The two dishes are pretty similar (if you order the veggie pho ask for the tofu.. it doesn’t come with the order). We also ordered the chicken dish and it was prepared very well. The portions are pretty generous…the garlic oil on the table is the highlight! The serving staff was very attentive and checked in often. We’ve had pretty flavorful veggie broth at other places so I don’t think we’d be back here … even for the volcano garlic oil 🙂

Nice clean restaurant. Huge! Seating is spacious. The food is so delish! I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed the summer rolls (#3) and the Beef Pho. The broth is good as is. No need to add anything to it. Huge portions of meat and noodles. I was full for the rest of the day.

Beautiful hidden restaurant at the busy Ala Moana Centre.
Enjoyed a delicious and fresh Chicken Pho with absolutely spectacular spring rolls. I really enjoyed my meal here. Everything was fresh and I couldn’t have ask for a tastier pho
The restaurant was relatively quiet. It may have been just the time I chose to eat.
Overall recommended. Loved this place and would return without hesitation
