Greeted like we just came back to our home town. Food was tasty. I had chicken and rice, turnip greens, Black eyed peas, with corn bread. Also tried my husband’s sweet tea. Everyone was so friendly. Will definitely go back when we pass nearby again.

Great place to eat! Great customer service, great food, and definitely a homie vibe. Highly recommend. My picture missed my bowl of grits, everything was seasoned well. The lady serving us was very sweet and kind. Definitely will be back next time we are in town!

Just happened upon plan this place recently. It is a quaint little place with a simple menu. Love the big crinkle cut fries. My companion says best BLT he’s had. Huge tomato slice and not over toasted. The fried green tomatoes are good although they are dusted so not much of a crust if that’s what you like. Prices are reasonable to the portion of the food you get. Great hospitality. I’ve only had lunch so I cannot speak to their breakfast and I have yet to try the specials but I hear that the pork chops on Wednesdays are a big huge seller. Twice visited and will be back

I do private duty sitting for my client in enigma Georgia.. every single day I pass by this place and I always wondered what type of food was there. So that particular day I stopped I ordered the biscuit and gravy and three scrambled eggs with cheese they were also very delicious and fresh and hot. But the clicker was when I got to the cash register I saw a mini butter pound cake $10 how can you pass that up. I was concerned with or not it would taste like butter or if it was dry but to my surprise when I put it in my mouth it melted like butter so I will be getting my pound cake from Mama nell.

A restaurant with wonderful ladies running the operation. True Southern hospitality with the food equal in goodness. Had catfish, cheesy grits, hush puppies and coleslaw from the specials board.

I’ve been gone to Thailand for 13 years, and my mom and I stopped here for lunch after handling some other business. She eats like a bird but ordered the hamburger, and to my surprise she was exceedingly happy with it and even told me she was glad I made us eat there.
That is high praise.
Me, well, I was happy as a lark, and if I didn’t think they’d be able to force me back, I’d of gotten in that kitchen and eaten every last butterbean they had in the place. Those were the best butterbeans I’ve ever had in my life, and I liked the squash and onions too. It took me a minute to get used to the idea of a cornmeal pancake, but it was cute and put a smile on my face. Even the tea suited me–sitting right on the good side of almost being too sweet.
If I had to sum this place up, I’d say it is like eating at your momma’s house, but you lucked up and got a good momma.
I will definitely go back if given the opportunity.

Loved it! We went out of our way to visit because my grandmother was also called Mama Nell. True old fashioned southern cooking. The homemade gravy was my favorite part. The sour cream pound cake looked so good we grabbed one for the road. And I loved the updated version of the old southern bottle tree tradition. They made a wall from them!
